A little theory I've come up with. Let me be the first to proclaim I am scared of death. Plain fearful of it. Not so much scared of ceasing to live, but scared of what comes with death. As most people are, they are forgotten once they have passed. Their essence is, nearly lost inside their family, and completely gone outside of it. That is what brings about my fear of death.
The fear of being forgotten. So, I have a natural ability to avoid that fear. And how does one go about doing so. You dare to be great, and hopefully accomplish it. In becoming great, you do not have to be mentioned in such high regards as Martin Luther King Jr., George Washington, Albert Einstein...just rememberd. So people can look back on your field of work and just appreciate you, although they do not know you.
But doing so comes at a high price. You cannot just become great from talent alone. You have to sacrifice part of yourself to earn the right to be in an aura of greatness. Do you want to just get out and get yours? Fine, do so...but you risk being forgotten the second you leave. In daring to be great, you sacrifice often yourself and your future for something that does not directly benefit you during your lifetime (usually).

A lot of people fear what comes after death. What happens to the human soul? But you fear being forgotten, and will do great things to make sure you are not. Does your fear of death push you to be a greater person, because if it does I thik a lot of people should fear death the way you do.
Just my opinion.
