If the characters of "Guess Who" (with Bernie Mac and Ashton Kutcher) were race-flipped...would it have been just as entertaining and comical...or might it have had more of a racist tone to it?
And when I asked my homegirl this, she reminded me that this was a remake of a movie where it actually was race-flipped ("Guess Who's Coming to Dinner")......to which I told her that I already knew this...but think about when that movie came out...1967!! That was back during a time when the racial situation in America was much different....
I'm asking about NOW....what would things be like if a movie like that were released NOW?
Would it be considered funny and/or entertaining by the masses?
And if so...exactly which actors/actresses do you think it would take to make it funny (assuming you think it'd take certain people)?
i think it would have been entertaining...i think it's cool when whites can actually make fun of blacks without being called racist or whateva...it's just a sign that all this racial tension is slowly fading away....oh i ain't talkin' bout no junk dem cats did in cincinnati... 8-) (nessa)
I think if the script was flipped it would still be entertaining as long as the writers refrained from being racists. I'm not sure who I would want to see act in it though...
i just saw the movie today...poetic inspired me...thanks for helping me to put a bill in bernies pocket...it was okay...2 out of 5 stars...i don't know why they present it as a comedy, but i think they should call it something else...it just had alot of messages about i dunno blacks and whites and thier differences and whatnot...

did anyone else notice the dark skinnned chick played the stereotypical dark skinned chick?? when is a dark skinned woman ever gonna get a man??!!! and bernie mac black as a jelly bean spitting out that light skinned girl and married to a light skinned woman???
