Serving your country for atleast 1 year should be mandatory for all American citizens. People need a pride in their country and need something bigger than themselves to worry about.

I remember getting a couple calls from the military. My brother just graduated and they were callin him also. All they ever got from me was the dial tone. The military is not for me and it's definately not where I'm trying to be. I am all that I can be without the military.
Recruiter: Hey man what's up?
Me: Nothin :: thinking to self who is this::
Recruiter: Hey man, so and so from your school told me about you. You played football with him.
Me: Uh, na. I never heard of him. He must of played a different year than me.
Recruiter: Well, he told me about how your a tough guy and all. You ever think about the Army?
Me: Well actually ::makes him think I'm really interested::........Naaaaaa. I've been accepted to a few colleges and I plan on going to Howard University.
Recruiter: That's a good college. My bro went there.
We talk about Howard for like 30 seconds....
Recruiter: Well man, good luck in school.
Me: Uhh...yea thanks. See you.
:: goes on the computer and listens to rock music filled with subliminal messages that explain the 9/11 conspiracy:: :???:
They won't call me again....I'ma Bison

When I can get my country to do the smallest things like fixing potholes in streets then I might consider that.

I take pride in my country but if I don't want to serve in the armed forces, or believe in fighting like that, that's my business...but I also won't say that I would never do it, you just never know.
I have a great deal of respect for the armed forces. I got family that has been or is in the military.
Are you in the military sir? I applaud you if you are.
