I'm not reading that blog cause it's simply too long, but I can comment on what he said.
The rev. said that -the problem is, our women are making more money than our man which makes them lesbian or somethin like that lol. I'm guessin he has formulated in his mind that money=power. If a woman has more money than a man, then all of a sudden she is more powerful, she is the head of the household, she is above the man, and it really should be the opposite.
I believe, that money is power if you make it power. Lets just look back to the civil rights movement. Malcom X had some CRAZY power. I mean, if he said we're goin right, the NOI went right. Martin Luther king was the same. Mind you, neither one of them lived in a mansion, or a luxury car.
Even in marriage, in this day and time, a lot of people go to college and even when a man and a women are both in good, successful careers, the women may make more money than the man. That's commonplace now a days.
With that being said, if a marriage fails because a successful woman makes more money than a successful man, then either he, she, or both have some kinda pride or just plain issues.
Now....seeing that this situation DOESN'T cause a women to become a lesbian, can we still say that lesbians are a problem in the black community. NO....this is one thing that REALLY irks me about some...."church people" I guess I can say. The church, and the black community are TWO DIFFERENT THINGS. God is not a black God or a white God. As a black person, I wish that we would notice this because it gets to a point where we try to make serving God a part of OUR heritage. Somehow, gospel music is a part of our heritage (depends on how you define gospel music). I'm kind of rambling, but to end on topic. His reasoning has no justification.
im curious to know what u gotta say about the subject Gina..
