A man was shot to death at World Changers Church International in College Park. The **** occurred Saturday night. The church is the ministry of Dr. Creflo Dollar.
Around 9:00 p.m. Saturday a man was shot and died. He was in the backstage area. It is unknown who the **** is.
11Alive News was informed by members of the church that there are no Saturday services. No one would be in the building except the security detail or someone possibly from the cleaning crew.
11Alive News has learned that a Fulton County police officer was called to the scene when they were informed that security officers were dealing with a combative man.
Authorities say the man was unruly. He started to fight with the police officer. They say the officer followed what they called the protocol of justifiable force.
They say the officer used his baton against the subject and struck him. They say at that point the subject went for the officers gun. The officer then pulled his gun and discharged it, **** and killing the man.
Nothing is known about the ****. It is not known why he was being unruly or how he got into the building.
The **** is under investigation.
That's crazy!!! SMH. I've been to the World Changers Church in NYC. But you wouldn't expect something like that in a church. Some people are just....
Yeah it's crazy. I know the guy was probably out of control, but I don't think it was necessary to **** him though. If the guy goes for your gun, knock him down, kick him, something non-lethal. Even if you have to shoot him, get him in the arm or leg or something. It just seems really hard to believe that the only option was to **** that man.
when will people realize church wont protect u
it's just a "holy" building
it's no different than being in a hotel or store
whoever said that the physical church building will protect us from the sinful realities of the world? Its nothing more than just a place of worship and praise.
Yeah, some people do think that. But keep in mind, they're not totally off. Churches have historically been places of refuge. Kinda like a safe haven. If you didn't feel safe anywhere else, you felt safe in the church.
But I don't think the whole idea is that people feel safe in the church building. They feel safe being somewhere where they can feel the presence of God, and sadly for a lot of Christians, church is the only place they can feel it.
But if you're Christian and you're living righteously, you have to believe that God will protect you, and that everything that happens to you, good or bad, is for a greater purpose and will benefit you down the line.
