please if you gonna respond , keep it light, i'm just voicing an opinion, i'm not starting a cult, some people get too serious, it's just for casual discussion not a presidentail debate. i'm just playing devil's advocate, have fun, thats all... (props to REAL TIME with BILL MAHER on HBO, the best voice on tv,........ the original topic has been edited to make it more clear ----------------------------------------------------------------- Explain this to me. a good friend of mine(he's black, don't worry) asked me questions regarding the BET network. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- if BET is BET (black entertainment television) why don't i see lenny kravitz's videos as an option on 106 and park(oh that's right, he's a rock star) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Dave matthews band(contemporary rock goup) got like 3 black dudes playing instruments in the background while the lead singer is a south african native who happens to be white. (oh i said the white word) ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- (if alicia looked more white she would get no playing time on BET no matter if she was half black or not(mixed people can look more black or white not just in the middle why? cuz they are mixed, duh!) 50 cent is a rapper, so he obviously wouldn't be played on the country music station. i don't think i can explain that anymore, its sarcastic, have a sense of humor, lol) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ speaking of country **** folks, lol, there's this new country singer out, cowboy troy, a 6 3' 230 pound black houston man shaking up country charts with what he calls HICK-HOP, u will never see his black **** on BET -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- BET is really TEB (Television that Entertains Blacks) they worried more about that paper. what happened to teen summit every saturday on BET? no more travis smiley? but we got 106 & park, the same damn videoes, on seven times a day. what's next? rap city after BET inspiration on sundays, come on. you can still market a lifestyle without rotting our brains, stick a little substance in, just a little bit, we can head to the crib in a little bit... my bad i had that 50 cent joint in my head. TO MY PEOPLE, i'm not drinkin that hatorade, I just wanted to bring up an issue that was brought to my attention to you, i still got love for my BET, I just think their ego is a little big. This should be common sense, but i'll say it anyway to those not doing good. WHAT YOU DO IS ON YOU. DON'T BLAME A NETWORK. stay focused and set goals. that's how bet was made. a dream, a goal, and a plan of action. please feel free to post you opinion on this issue, don't be afaid to ask questions

Dave matthews band(contemporary rock goup) got like 3 black dudes playing instruments in the background while the lead singer is a south african native who happens to be white. (oh i said the white word) if alicia keys looked more like her white momma she would get as much playing time on BET as 50 Cent gets on CMT(the country music station) speaking of country **** folks, lol, there's this new country singer out, cowboy troy, a 6 3' 230 pound black houston man shaking up country charts with what he calls HICK-HOP, u will never see his black **** on BET Tiger Woods. half Black AND asain golfer. you think if he looked like jackie chan even if he was half black, that he would have any peeps in the black community root for him. miss mariah carey(one of the greatest singers of all time) idon't know where to start, in fact i not even gonna start, i love her music too much, lol joss stone (18 year old white chick from england with a soulful vibe) she taking that mariah carey route, the difference is stone has support from the veteran soul kings and queens but no "street cred" like mariah has gotten over the years my point is BET is not BET at all, cuz if it was everything i wrote would happen, black country singer, black rock band with white south african lead singer, we would see all them on BET cuz they are BLACK ENTERTAINMENT. but we all know thats not true. instead BET is really TEB (Television that Entertains Blacks) they worried more about that paper and not good role models for us, the black youth. what happened to teen summit every saturday on BET? no more travis smiley? but we got 106 & park, the same damn videoes, on seven times a day. what's next? rap city after BET inspiration on sundays, come on. you can still market a lifestyle without rotting our brains, stick a little substance in, just a little bit, we can head to the crib in a little bit... my bad i had that 50 cent joint in my head. I didn't read anything wrong. Pink was played on BET even thoough she was white because she did "black" music. That being said no matter how white Alicia Keys is her music will still be played on BET because she does "black" music, right? Same thing with Joss Stone.
