What's your problem with the word refugee? Straight from dictionary.com ref·u·gee - One who flees in search of refuge, as in times of war, political oppression, or religious persecution. War, political opression, and religious persecution are just examples of things people can seek refuge from. That's why it says "as in" Now let's look up refuge ref·uge - Protection or shelter, as from danger or hardship. A place providing protection or shelter. A source of help, relief, or comfort in times of trouble. So what's the big deal over that word? If you're gonna be mad, be mad over something that matters...

I'm just saying be mad about the big stuff, like: - The federal gov't slows reactions - The limited international response (we always the first to help) - The rising gas prices

I got upset when I heard them being called refugees too because these people are tax paying individuals not outsiders to the country. And refugees OFFICAL meaning might not mean forgien people but when the word has been used in the past that's the kind of people it was describing. I also think the way black people are being potrayed is a big deal......I agree with the letter writer.
