jacked from another site When we read about all the atrocities and crimes against humanity committed in Iraq, no matter how much we can point the finger at Bush, Condoleezza and the like, the one's who actually carry out these dirty deeds are the troops. The only heroes worthy of note are those who develop a conscience, see their real mission for what its worth and quit the armed forces of the United States. It is the largest ****organization humanity has ever seen. It will be a beautiful day when soldiers, en masse, just up and quit that hideous organization. http://www.uruknet.info/pic.php?f=f18.jpeg (warning graphic) The American military, from top to bottom is a hideous blight on our planet. There are no innocents in this massive killing machine. There's no 'honour' in volunteering for the worlds largest ****organization, now under the command of the deceitful, criminal cabal led by George W. Bush. American soldiers are well trained to ****, and obviously, to torture, and they go off to Iraq all of their own 'free will." They know that they will ****, and that they may die. There will not be any "honour," or "glory" for these stupid youngsters who continue to volunteer themselves for 'duty' in Bush's appalling adventure. These soldiers, including the 2000 ****, by taint of their volunteer status, are each personally responsible for the murder of 100,000 innocent Iraqi's. True, there are several heroic, courageous and righteous American soldiers, -namely Brandon Hughey, Jeremy Hinzman and others who have revolted against the criminal, inhuman behaviour they were expected to participate in. When will all those 'Gold Star Families' start recognizing that these are the only true heroes coming out of the USA military? The idea that you can "Support the Troops" and be against what they do in the world is simply irreconcilable. The ****mastermind of their deaths says exactly the same thing every day: "We've lost some of our nation's finest men and women in the war on ****," Bush said. "Each of these patriots left a legacy that allowed generations of their fellow Americans to enjoy the blessings of liberty." __________________________________________________ your thoughts?

Because it's still their job. Their career. They know what is expected of them, and that's to defend the Constitution of the United States, and respond to the direct orders of the Commander-In-Chief. Yes one can disagree with their purpose over there and still support them (the individual soldiers). Because they need it. When my father served in the first Gulf War, I didn't like the fact that they were going to war, but I dealt with it. I was proud of him, and I didn't doubt for a second that my father, the consummate military professional would complete his task and come back. It's not his fault, and although some personnel do have the gumption to quit, not all see that as necessary or even a viable option. In other words, this article **** and was probably written by some ****group, trying to further divide the collective American conscience.

I don't support the cause but I do support the troops. However, I must ask; what is the difference between when a soldier kills and what a murderer does, honestly? Is it that a soldiers actions are justified because it's their job or what is it? Just wondering.

some of yall need to go see Bowling for Columbine.......many soldiers (and most black ones) go join the army because they HAVE NO CHOICE...sometimes its their only option besides drug dealing and stuff..so why shouldnt u support these people who feel like society has left them back and theres no other way to go but to the Army. Remember many soldiers are POOR....and the poor usually stay that way....mabye its their way of getting UP...why should we not root for these people

Did you miss my football example? War is generally between the armies of the opposing governments. There are some civilian casualties, but in this case, most of those are being inflicted on the Iraqis by their own brethren!

You're reaching. As a matter of fact, that's crazy. Put yourself in the warzone or even in Southside Chicago on the Five Mile Run, and you'll see that at base human nature is about survival of the fittest. The military has done the shock and awe thing, now they are serving as policemen, in other words, they respond. Very few times do you hear now about them attacking anyone.

That's not what I've heard plenty of people say.

If they are such punks, why don't you come down to Fort Bragg or Camp Lejune and call them punks. As a matter of fact, hold a protest in front of 82nd Airborne Headquarters, or on Paris Island. If you don't have the balls/ovaries to do that, don't speak on what they need to do or don't need to do. You want them to take a stand, you take a stand first instead of hiding your misguided rhetoric behind an IP address.

Man not even everyone on this BOARD is truly college material, less talking about the general population. Less than 28% of the population has a college degree. They might not have the option. Joining the military sure in the hell beats causing grease zits on your face from frying chicken patties all day. You apparently don't realize exactly how hard real life might be. You don't get health benefits working part-time at McDonald's buddy.

Like I said, stand in front of the headquarters of 82nd Airborne and call everyone in the building misguided murderers.

In its classic term, murder is defined: "the unlawful killing of another human, with premedititated malice" That's why in the court of law, people who **** protecting themselves usually get dismissed or get manslaughter. Soldiers either **** protecting themselves, or they are authorized (legal) for them to use deadly force to subdue the enemy, therefore they are not murderers.
