I almost want to blame Pharrell for Thicke's new image... I didn't even want to hear him rap last time I heard it, lol... nothing wrong with it at all... he just seemed more... eclectic? before.

..its Thicke doing the bridge vocals...he does sound like Justin a bit...but yeah thats his voice...And i dunno if i like the new look either...i liked him a WHOLE lot better when he had his longer hair and when he was a little bit thicker because he lost some weight you can definately tell...I hate it when artists...especially those who have AMAZING talent like he does...changes because "thats the way of the business" now i understand you gotta make that paper and everything...but wouldn't be even better...and oh so nice if someone refused to conform with the rest and STILL be successful....
I do like the song...i can't lie...the video makes me a bit mad....but his voice is amazing...

It sounds like one of those "quick buck" type tracks. Pharrell just recycled some old idea he had and gave it to somebody who wanted it. And yeah it is lacking... his singing is toooooo laid back (almost half assed on that hook)... pharrell coulda did a better job with that as a producer.

to be more specific, there's a lot of wonkiness in this song. the plucked strings/harp/whatever are all wonky and off beat. the drum during the bridge is all wonky and off beat. the hook vocals sound wonky and half-assed. and yes, "sah-YIN-tists" was rather wonky. you'd think Pharrell would make it wonk-proof before he put his voice and face on it. :???: sounds like some beat I would make.
but once you put all the wonkiness together, it grows on you. :lol: maybe that was the plan all along. maybe wonky is the new Picasso. maybe thicke's evolution is from eclectic to cubist :neutral:

but all in all... u can't lie about not liking the song. soundcheck... perhaps you need to do a "sound check" and quit lying. you like the song.
