so you'd rather have women put relaxers in their hair to keep it "long and soft"?...sorry to tell you but most black women aren't born with naturally long, soft, and straight hair...keep in mind we, as black people, have African roots... women, don't listen to this isht...

I just assumed he meant long "straight" hair...myyyy bad lol...but from my experience natural hair (no chemicals) is usually very **** (no problem with that)...and I don't get what you mean by "long and natural"...you mean dreads or what? inform me

It really depends on your hair type. A LOT of black ppl have 4b hair. Its really ****, but soft(most of the time) 4b hair doesn't grow long(downward), it grows out(think Erykah Badu, Nadia, etc) Chemicals just straighten it out and makes it hang. (hint: relaxes it) 4B hair usually doesn't get that long because it breaks off easily(combing). As for cutting it, I would say to each its own, but if you do cut it, take care of it. It hair, so it grows back.

true. When I had to get my hair chopped off last year (becuz of a relaxer/color fiasco, DAMN CHEMICALS) like that Fantasia cut in dude's sig, I made sure I went and got my hair done every other week. Short cuts can be sharp if they are done right. But no more cutting for me, unless it's a trim.
