A friend of mine went through an interesting situation today, and I would like to have yall's sentiments on this:
Today was rainy. and when i say rainy, i mean, WATERFALLS OUT OF THE SKY rainy.
And Hampton University, being RIGHT on the water, is extreeemely windy. it's normal on campus to see tens of abandoned wind-broken umbrellas all on the campus grounds, so you can imagine the need for a sturdy umbrella.
Well my friend bought a very reliable one last year. She bought it not only for its sturdiness, but because it had her favorite colors, which JUST SO HAPPENED to be Purple and Gold. and as yall know, those JUST SO HAPPEN to be the colors of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity. and it JUST SO HAPPENED to have the greek letters OMEGA, PSI, AND PHI on it in small small print. (keep in mind, when she bought the umbrella, she had no idea about the fraternity, and didn't even see the letters printed on there).
today wasn't a good day for umbrellas here at hampton; my friend blew out TWO of them today, and the only one she had left was the big, sturdy Purple and Gold umbrella. even though her roomate had approached her earlier this year, and informed her about the colors, the print on the umbrella was SO SMALL, she thought it wouldn't make a difference, because it was raining damn DINOSAURS outside.
not 5 minutes after walking outside, a member of the frat came up to her VERY RUDELY, and explained that "a girl wearing purple and gold in the vicinity of an omega man is the equivalent of seeing a middle finger pointed upwards".
WAS THAT OUT OF LINE? IT WAS RAINING HARD AS HELL OUTSIDE, AND YOU WOULD HAVE TO BE REALLY REALLY CLOSE TO THE UMBRELLA TO SEE THE FRAT NAME PRINTED ON IT.
She ended up walking around the rest of the day without an umbrella.
i think the man was 10000% out of line, you shouldn't get in the way of a black girl and her umbrella; she's got her hair to worry about.

WELL IT WAS RAINING HARD HERE in the 757 YES it was so I agree SHE DID NEED SOME TYPE OF PROTECTION BUT STILL TI WAS DISRESPECTING THE FRATERNITY SHE SHOULDVE APOLOGIZED AND EXPLAINED TO THE DUDE THAT SHE DIDNT KNOW THE GUY I UNDERSTADN HES DEFENDING HIS FRAT BUT COULDVE BEEN A LITTLE MORE CONCERNING AND WILLING TO HEAR WHAT REASON SHE HAD I DONT KNOW.. THE GIRL CLAIM SHE DONT KNOW ABOUT THAT FRAT AND YOU SAID IT WAS IN SMALL LETTERS IT WAS A COMMON MISTAKE ANYONE COULD HAVE MADE IT

Question: Did he take the umbrella becuz it was purple and gold, or did he take it becuz he saw the letters on the umbrella first?
If he took her umbrella only becuz he saw that it was purple and gold (and didn't see the letters) , he was wrong. Just becuz you are a member of that org does not mean he owns the damn purple and gold color scheme thats on an umbrella (same as for blue& white, red&white, pink&green, black&gold, etc).
If he took the umbrella becuz he instantly saw the letters, he should have told her in a nice way that it was innappropriate, but not so rudely as to have her walking around drenched for the rest of the day. But I'm torn becuz if she knew the letters where on there, its kinda like asking for a confrantation.
They will probably move this question to Greek Fam where I can tell you your answers will be quite "colorful".
That aside, "Q Dog" was wrong. Her big ole boyfriend...maybe a "Q DOG", COULD have given her that umbrella for protection. She outta bashed him upside his thick bald head wit it. That's just the Oakland in me..I 'pologize.
He sound like a little beyotch and not like a real "Q" to me. He prolly tryin' to get on the good side of "Big Brother Pick A Name". He'll get slapped for bein' an *zz and not a gentleman like MOST "Q's"...
