"he's such a great black rapper..." Posted on 02-06-2007
Hahaha

YouTube - TV on the Radio - Staring at the Sun kay so this is a video for one of my favorite bands out there now...these cats they rock pretty damn good. they're kinda brand new and they are suprising everybody out there with thier bad-**** sound... welp anyways, if you read the youtube comments, everybody keeps refering to them as "black rockers". i mean..did't we start rock n roll? i'm telling you, 20 years from now eminem is going to be the creator of rap music, and white folk will be out there praising the "black rappers" who dare tresspass on thier hip-hop territory... yeah this thread is more about TV on the Radio than it is about white folk stealing our culture.... BTW...tv on the radio is this shizzit! you have to get cookie mountain....

Ain't that the truth... just like everything. Style of dress, slang, whatever... just like paul mooney said blacks are some of the most imitated people on this planet. We had a black rock concert on Morehouse's Campus last year which was part of our "Evolution of Black Rock" festival. 24-7 Spyz Gimmie and Three5 Human which was pretty ill (and it was free). The turn out sucked tho but it was sooooo ill. I think one issue is that black folk as a whole don't acknowledge our contribution to rock and roll, particularly when it comes to its modern day form. Its almost like parents disowning their child to a degree. but yo... Check out these lyrics by mos def. He was on point with this song (this whole album for that matter).
