NAACP Burying the N word?
While I understand that the N word is often degrading and innapropriate, I cannot think of a greater waste of time than "burying it". Blacks face soooo many other issues like the ridiculously high rates of AA men in prison, or the alarming number of AA females with HIV/**** -just to name a few- that it's pretty puzzling that the NAACP of all organizations would choose to focus its efforts on this. If anything it made the organization look like a joke, especially because even BLACKS are saying this "funeral" is plain ridiculous, and to be honest I don't know whether the NAACP is lying to itself or the public when it says this funeral is actually going to make a difference.

i agree with you but ,then, part of me has to applaude the NAACP for actually trying to be a catalyst in change of something that needed to happen long ago. if we don't stop, or come to some type of resolution about the word, then we may be our own worst enemy in this fight. we have to, as a people, take a step back and try to find out why we use such a neg. word, as a term of "endearment' towards each other..
