Hello to All, and may God's blessings be upon you. I just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Lisa and though I have had many college experiences in the past, I had not completed my degree, only certificates, etc. I am in my early 30's and just graduate in August, 2007 with my BS in Management and currently working on my MBA - though neither are from an HBCU.
However, I decided to join because of my children. I have a daughter who is a senior in high school, a son who is a junior, another daughter who is a sophomore, and last but certainly not least, a daughter who is in 7th grade. They all want to attend an HBCU and I thought it would be best if I started researching and getting involved as well as getting them involved.
My eldest daughter is already experiencing some negativity with her counselor telling her she can only get into Cincinnati State, etc. and I continue to encourage her to apply everywhere she wants to go.
So, in a nutshell this is who I am and why I joined. I lookn forward to having further discussions with everyone.

My senior wants to do nursing but would also like to go into physical therapy if there is an extended wait for nursing. My junior (son) wants to do engineering, he likes architectural but he likes the art side of things like cartoon characters, etc....he is a very good artist. My sophomore also wants to go into physical therapy, and my youngest wants to be a fashion designer. She is also a very good artist and attends the School for Creative and Performing Arts right now.
