If you are familiar with some of the individuals in the particular frat/soror that you are interested in, and you are wondering when and if they will hold a spring informational anytime soon, should you outright ask? Or wait until you see flyers?
It depends what one person considers a friend another considers an acquaintance. Let's just say you have did some volunteering together, had lunch/dinner and talk occasionally, but not on a consistant basis.
I wasn't tryin to go that in depth with it, but anywho.....to answer the question, go ahead and ask if you feel comfortable. If not, wait for a flyer to be posted.
C_nels i just want you to know that didnt help me one bit. lol. Im right back at square one. The thing is you can never be too sure what kind of reaction you will get.... maybe i need to wait for the right moment. Timing is everything.
If the person knows that you are interested in the organization then I dont see a problem with asking them when the next informational would be held. But C_nels gave her answer bacause it all depends on the person. Not everyone can be approached when talking about their organizations. So I would sit down and let that person know that you were interested in their organization and then take it from there.
Hope that helped
Actually I did answer it, I may pass somebody on the yard and know their name but that doesn't make them "familiar" to me. Now if they were in one of my classes and we spoke from time to time, then they would be "familiar" to me and I would ask. I wouldn't even consider them an associate or friend but I'd ask. It's all about your comfort level in the end. If you scared, say you scared! ...and EtaKappa, I'm not a her.
I agree with C Nels... Only YOU can determine if you are comfortable enough with that person to ask a question like that. I'd venture to guess that if you guys were that "familiar" you wouldn't be asking the question on the forum. So, bottom line, is if you have presented yourself as an interest to this person, by all means, RESPECTFULLY ask the question. If you have never expressed your interest to this person, then now might be a good time! And still look out for the flyers.
I think the best advice in any situation concerning an interest, is to be just that, an interest. Go to your local library, get some interesting literature, Googlesome interesting information, and get to studyin' that interesting information. Anything that needs to be known will be known. If any of your questions have been left unanswered they were probably unanswered for a reason.Good Luck with all that
