Now i love to read but some Black authors go for the same ol' **** selling **** while gettn ******* (no offense) soo tell me whats yur favorite book from a blck author. Mines would be white lines by tracy brown.. Its a great book
I actually have two that I love and are my favorites. First is Their Eyes Were Watching God by Zora Neale Hurston the imagery is awesome, and second is Redemption Song by Beatrice Berry this book drew me in and made me feel like I was in the book. James Baldwin is a great author and I tend to be drawn more to older works because they have a different feel and tone.
There's a few stories I like from black authors, but to name a few off the top of my head:
"November Blues" by Sharon M. Draper
"Tears of a Tiger" From Sharon M. Draper
"The Coldest Winter Ever" by Sistah Soulja
The list goes on and on.

Have you read Copper Sun by Sharon M. Draper? If you haven't, you should, it's an excellent read.
Coldest Winter Ever gave me doubts when i first started reading it... but it was actually pretty good. I wonder when they're ever gonna make the movie...
