I just wanted to know why do guys send text messages, instead of picking up and calling a woman? I've noticed that in this new generation of dating, that guys are doing a lot of texting. Why not just pick up the phone and call? I'm just wondering why even bother about asking for my number if you are going to text. I feel that you should just ask for my email address if you are going to write. Anyway, fella's give me your thoughts on this and the reason why you do this.
haha i'm a female and its the opposite with me. i always text and the guy ends up picking up and calling. my reason fo doing it is to avoid akward moments in the conversation. especially if we haven't actually managed to have our first phone convo yet. the first call is hard and i don't want to do it so i just text until he does. i'm guessing guys do the same thing.

I've had guys to do both. They will make the first call, but then start texting immediately after the call. I'm like that is irritating. I think that is rude, to text people all the time. I can see if someone is in a meeting or somewhere where they can't talk on the phone, but to just text for no reason doesn't make sense to me.
I think, as males, we text because we are either nervous ... not that attracted to her ... Or Too busy tryin too figure out if she really wants a call from a possible boyfriend, or just a text from a BFF, ... And we figure you cant go wrong with the text...
P.S. the most anoying thing though, is when I text a female, "whas gud, or Whaddup"... And she calls me...
I understand that the dynamics of a cell phone allow me to make calls, and exactly how to do that... So if i wanted to "chat" , i'd of hit the green button...
I don't mind receiving or sending text msgs but, some guys can go overboard with it and it is annoying sometimes. I think that some men text because they are afraid to verbally speak their mind at times and it's easier to just say it in a text.
I text b/c talkin on the phone is for girls! lol Texting is so much easier. Now if we're texting and the convo gets too much, then I'll call. Other than that, texting is for me. As far as texting before the first phone convo, I wouldn't do it.
As far as why men text, men don’t want to seem boring, if they don’t have anything to say. It’s much easier to communicate via text and eliminates the fear factor. Also, most people would rather converse face-to-face vs. the phone. If I am interested in a lady, I will call without hesitation. You can learn much more about a person by calling. When you text or email, it’s difficult to express emotion.
I don't like just breathing on the phone....
So if I don't feel like a guy is interesting enough
to keep the conversation flowing...I'd just rather text....
