I understand that fear all too well. When I was attending a college in upstate NY, the girls bathroom was ALWAYS nasty. There was hair in the sinks, hair dye or some hair product consistently making a nasty little black ring around the drain in the showers...and I don't really want to get started on the sanitary napkins and their um, unlikely locations (I took out a loan for THIS?!)...but piggybacking off of what someone said earlier, as a sophomore or RA (resident assistant, this is ideal) you can always upgrade to something better.
Get shower shoes, keep lysol and bleach spray in your shower caddy and you'll be fine.... we all survived it.
I lived in Wheatly Hall my freshman year, then Palmetto South the summer of my Sophomore year. Palmetto South was more ideal, but when I moved off campus I had my own bathroom.
The other thing is you can alway shower right after they've cleaned the bathrooms. That's what I did in Wheatly... usually when everyone else was in class.
