B-CC or Famu? Which one is your favorite and why? Posted on 09-12-2003
2cute04

Attention all HBCU students, alumni, and future HBCU students!!! There has been a LONG STANDING vendetta between these two schools. I want to put this argument to rest once and for all.... B-CC maybe the smaller of the two but it's not about size, it's about quality. B-CC has everthing you will need and more. B-CC develops your mental, social and most importantly spiritually! What more can you ask for? Do you want your teachers to call you by name or by your id #? Do you want to be in a communty that looks out for the student or one that will care less? Do you want to know your college president, go by his or her office freely and have the president of the college know you too or do you want to only see your president at football games and presidental receptions? Do you want to attend a HBCU that has supportres that ACTUALLY went to that school and GRADUATED or be misrepresented by people frontin' like they attended but can't name one dorm on that campus. B-CC students and alumni bleed MAROON and GOLD because KNOW what it is like to ACTUALLY BE A WILDCAT!!!! Iam not hating but articluating the actual factuals of the topic. If you agree or disagree, let me know what's up?

Please... There is no question that Florida A & M University is the better school. Most people like to compare the 2 schools in turns of our band and football team. The band, there is no comparison to be made. When BBC can gather a squad that can take up the entire field and coordinate moves the way the 100 does, then we can talk. But most importantly, the true issue should be academics. How many Masters Degree programs our there at BCC? What about PhD programs ? Does BCC have their own Pharmacy school ? What about a top 25 School of Business ? Can you earn a Bachelors Degree in Physical, Respiratory or Occupational Therapy at BCC ? Probably not. www.famu.edu Rattler 4 Life

2 B.E.A.T.T, Why do you feel the need to keep comparing FAM and BCC. They are both great schools leave it at that. It makes me think you tryin to start an online beef between the two. Like the continuous debate on here about who's th real HU, Hampon or Howard. Its nonsense. I'm not going to entertain why FAM overall is a better school, cause I would just be speaking biasely because I am Rattler. But dont take my word, go to the Black Ivy Leagues post and see for urself in those rankings by Black Enteprise which are unbiased and done by research of all the HBCUs, and see why in an overall academic ranking FAMU is at #4 and BCC at # 10. Until BCC beats us in those rankings you cant speak on our professors only knowing us by id # and all that other untrue mess you were speaking. And yes we may not personnally know our university president as you wonderful wildcats  but we still have opportunities to meet with him and speak with him if we have concerns. And just because FAMU is big doesnt mean we arent a family because we are very close. So with all that said, have a good day

Issyss, First of all, you can't tell me what not to post and what are not valid statements about your school or mine. I am not like some of these other people who jump on here w/ no facts, no information to make their arguments valid. We can say that both schools are well known, accredited and blah blah blah  cry me a river. I get upset when me or any other Wildcat gets on here and gives a shot out to the almighty B-CC and some danm rattler will follow with their shout out and a sarcastic diss to B-CC. The fact remains... there will always be an issue w/ these two schools because we are rivals!!!! Hello! Yes, I have read the Black Ivy thing but isn't it true that they have some FAMU alumni working for that company? Hummmmm..... who cares :? As for the person who brought up the topic of having a gradschool in this and that... let's just say that Cookman has a few new things coming up in the near future. We may not have graduate programs yet but just to list a few of our long list of academic accomplishments: 1. One of the top nursing schools in the state 2. The best school of education in the state(we produce more qualified and certified teachers than any school in the state b/c you can't graduate out of the education program w/o being certified! Same thing goes for the nursing program) 3. We are the top HBCU in Fl. in the division of humanities(most humanities majors have to take upper level courses in foreign languages just to meet the graduation requirements and most of the music majors learn at least three different languages to study certain music pieces as well as meet their graduation requirements) My fiance was the very first church music major to graduate from B-CC and he can speak German, Italian and French! What!!!!! 4. Our world renown Concert Chorale.... buy our lastest CD " BACH II GOSPEL III" and you be the judge. Ps. Your school has never beat us singing and we have performed on the same program ie. the first classic in Orlando(1997) When was the last time Famu put out a CD? 5. Our football team... last year's score speaks volumes and the college football polls predict another beatdown in the making  6. I know for a fact that during the 1996-97 school year, Famu ran out of rooms and had girls sleeping in the basement of their dorm buildings b/c one of my friends had a room down there. Where is your school's cooth? B-CC on the other hand, when we run out of housing, we put the students in hotels and provide around the clock service to and from the hotels. A few times, we remained booked the whole year and it was done the entire year! My school...classy all the way live!!!!:o 7. The marching Wildcats always show up and show out. By the way, we have over two hundred people in the band and I don't remember seeing your band do anything so spectacular in ........ yea, you get my point! I could go one forever but I choose to let Nov. 22, 2003 speck for it's self about the football teams and the bands from B-CC and FAMU. As far as academics go , please feel free to check out our webpage with the curriculum on it and you can compare and contrast the two. I am an alumni and out in the real world making money so until you can concur, we really don't have anything in common or to discuss..... I just like to argue b/c people get so sensitive about stuff they really shouldn't. I am not tryin to start an online beef! I was just havin fun. Now you have a nice day!!!!!!!!1

^^^^^lolol.....   Whatever 2 B.EA.T.T, I am no longer going to entertain your ignorance, but as an alumni of B-CC I am very surprised you would be acting so childish over something that is so unimportant. But it figures ur an alumni cause you are speaking on issues from 1996....believe it or not, times have changed since then . For someone who didnt even attend FAMU you sure seem to act like you know a hell of alot about the school. Are you sure you didnt want to be a Rattler :?: :?: :?: Yeah you brag about BCC havng the best nursing program choirs in Florida blah blah blah....Here's a good question: WHO GIVES A FLYING F*CK ABOUT BCC OR THEIR DAMN NURSING PROGRAM AND CHOIRS :!: :!: :!: Yeah, if BCC graduates do so much what the hell is your profession :?: :?: :?: Cause all it seems like you do is say how much better BCC is than FAMU. But maybe to your shock and disbelief, BCC IS NOT GOD'S GIFT TO THE STATE OF FLORIDA OR BLACK COLLEGES FOR THAT MATTER. So with that said, GET THE HELL OVER YOURSELF :!: :!: :!:     Thisis my last time responding to this dumb bullsh*t :!: :!: :!:

Issyss, Check this out lil mama, *uck you and the horse you rode in on!! :x I am not here to impress you. Of course I considered FAMU,Florida Memorial, Edward Waters, LeMonye Owen, and many other HBCUs as a highschool senior but I chose B-CC for many reasons that I don't have time to speak on right now. My profession is not to be advertised on this form. I am not tryin to make pin pals! Just know I don't have any fiancial troubles!!!! Yes, things have changed everywhere and in every way since 1996 but, I LOVE MY ALMATER!!!!!! What's wrong w/ me gettin on here reppin my school. The Rattlers are forever on here talkin about FAMU this and that! It is not an obsession..... I just have die hard pride in the school that gave me so much. I talk about the nursing program and the education program and the music program for several reasons. I was in the music program (Concert Chorale)b/c of my scholarship, I was in the education program and I have O.E.S sisters that were in the nursing program and yes, I like to brag 'cause those programs got it goin on! No different than people being proud of FAMU's various programs! I really don't appreciate you jumpin on here w/ all this hostility like we go back like that and you can just act a damn fool on me. You don't know me like that.....ok! :x I try to respect everybody on here( even when I am talkin trash.) If you don't like my post, then don't visit them. Last time I checked, I was not on your payroll and I don't really owe you any explanations for my over zealous behavior as a WILDCAT!!!! B-CC is God's gift to those whom chose that college to pursue a higher education. You know what, you keep saying this is your last post and no more replies, well, be real about it and don't post anything else. If you want to address me, private message me. I am not one for the "ghetto internet wars" Holla!!!!!
