Midnight: The Prequel to The Coldest Winter Ever

I was a little hurt to see that this book is a prequel and not a sequel. I was looking forward to what happened with the Santiago family and Midnight. It ended as if there could be and was going to be a sequel, but according to Sister Souljah, there may not be one at all. Here's a recent interview she did about her latest book. Sister Souljah Speaks on 'Midnight' - Black Voices Blogs I'm up in the air about reading this one. I wonder if the library has it on audiobook?

I finished reading "Midnight" last week. And it's exactly what it says it is, 'A Gangster Love Story'. A few gangsta moves in the beginning but after that, it's all a love story. The drama level is nowhere near as what it was in CWE. I was glad that I got this book from the public library and didn't buy it like I did CWE. She left the book open-ended but I have no interest in knowing what happens next.

I just finished reading the book and I was really dissappointed with the book for starters it didn't really have an ending and also she left me wanting to know what happened in the coldest winter ever I wanna know what happened with that family...I'm glad I didn't buy the book also saved me some cash because midnight didn't seem like the midnight that was in the coldest winter ever...So for the 09 I'm really gonna need Sister Souljah to step her game up

She lost some cool points with this one. I at least was expecting her to lead into CWE but noooooo she couldn't help a brotha out.

When I picked up the book from on hold at the library, I was like wow...hardcover?! :o She should have stuck with Mass Market sized. It set you back about $25 or so right?

This one truly makes the saying, "Don't judge a book by its cover!" a statement of truth. It's all nice and shiny on the outside! Colorful inside covers/flaps! But the storyline is lame
