yeah well i called and i can change it and i did but noww my EFC number is out the roof high like 30K
they're not gonna give me any money nowwwww!!!!

I actually had the opposite problem. I filed as dependent, but since I am a ward of the court I am legally indpendent. What you have to do is sign back into FAFSA, change your status, and then resend it back to your colleges. It will take a couple of days, but I guess its better than going to jail. But your EFC is 30,000? Thats bananas.
