I posted this in another forum but I wanna make sure that everybody reads it. The U.S. Justice Department has decided to reopen the Emmett Till case. Due to new eyewitness testimony they have reason to believe that there were more than the originally two tried white men who had confessed to the crime. Guess we can have some faith in our legal system yet.
Yeah I was watching the news and seen that too. Coming from a suburban erra of Chicago, it's funny how we didn't learn ****about him in school. I had to do some reading on him a few years ago just to get the knowledge, and I'm glad I did.
I'm glad they're still looking into that murder case, it's sad that his mother just passed away a few months ago, I know she would have been overjoyed!!!

I learned about it in my junior year from a pretty good history teacher. But I had already educated myself so I was the only one that knew what he was talking about. Last year I was supposed to go hear his mother speak on a Wednesday at Ebenezer Baptist Church, but the Lord called her home that Sunday. Maybe now she and her son may be able to rest in peace.
They don't teach about Emmitt Till in my school but I have read up on him and watched some documentaries on the Civil Rights Movement. They completely beat the hell outta that kid. I saw his face and it looked like play-doe. No lie. It hurt me to my heart to see what they did to that guy all because he spoke to a white lady. What really **** me was when the guys were admitting it and laughing about it knowing they couldnt get in trouble. That is because of the double jepordy because of the 5th amendment.
That's funny because I was just watching a documentary on Emitt Till. It such a shame that it took all these years for there to be hope on this case. I'mnot going to get my hopes up high because I'm not so sure that he will get the justice that he deserves. They don't teach about Emitt Till in none of the schools I attended either. I just read about him in a magazine and decided to research more.
Yeah, I saw that on the news just last night. I love when justice is served........every little victory we have makes a big difference in the long run.
