*rubs his eyes some, reading* *nods* The role of the Black Woman is the same as the role of any living and breathing Human living on this earth. To help better our way of living by spreading Truth, Knowledge and Wisdom, Procreate and...just live. Im not sure that there is a set role for anyone in society (especially here in America where we all have a chance to go Hard or go Home) and Women can make just as big (or bigger) of an impact as men. That holds no bound to race either. As far as at home, I believe that women and men should take the same amount of responsibility in cooking, cleaning and pleasure. I believe in dual income houses where both parents work, come home tired and do whatever the hell they want. Its the privelege of working, and if she (or he, in sometimes rare cases) doesnt work then they will have to pull their weight by keeping the house clean. They dont always have to clean, but damn DO SOMETHIN. (like i said, these rules know no bounds)

even today...as far as we've gotten....even tho honestly we still got a ways to go...
I agree with you on that...we have a LOOOOONG way to go. As does anything that wants to advance in society. In order for any type of operation to be effective, everyone must be for the cause. So that means any woman that is bout her business needs to button up that blouse, pull down that skirt, and show off her greatest asset: her brains! This reminds me of a friend I had, educated, pretty and her dream was to find a good, rich man and be a housewife..like that's what she wanted for the rest of her life!! Buy Gucci and wear diamonds. If we can get people out of that shallow state of mind, then maybe women can get futher in the social ladder. As far as being Black women, in society we are double minorities so it's twice as hard...but if you about yours, then nothing like gender and/or race get in the way cuz ur will & determination should be above and beyond those phoney labels. For a good feminism book, read anything by Rebecca Walker (daughter of Alice Walker)

Why alot of people feel the home is where women belong??? Well, if some of you attend church you may have heard ,that the man is head of his household and women should submit to their husbands. The role where the wife is suppose to be the man's help mate.So basically the woman is under the authority of the man.
tru... but the part everyone (especially men) forget to read is that just as women are supposed to submit to their husbands....the husbands are supposed to submit to their wives. c...it goes both ways
