Fisk is a very very small school. it is a good place to be if u like the smallness and the history. TnSU is good if u like to party. not saying that Fisk doesn't party, but Tsu has the better ones. and it also depends on what u want to major in too! if u wanna know more holla at me at ladylove142@hotmail.com!!
I really like FISK the most. They have alot of joint programs with other schools in alot of their majors. They also have smaller classes. It seems more like family instead of alot of faces you don't know. Alot of people don't know that their parties are hype. The staff is one of the best college staffs I have seen. If you really want to go their, they will help you and work with you through your entire process of acceptance, entering, and getting money for school. The best advice I could give you is to go spend a day at that school and talk to the people and staff there. Good luck in whatever school you decide to attend!
I think TSU is better simply because I have been on Fisk's campus and they dont have the welcoming attitude that you would get at Tennessee State. Fisk is a good school, dont get me wrong, the caliber of faculty and staff is great as well as it is at TSU. One difference between Fisk and TSU is that Fisk is private TSU is public. Private schools tend to be more conservative whereas public schools are more liberal. Thats why if you were to ask anyone from Fisk about TSU they would say that it is a party school and if you were to ask anyone from TSU about Fisk they would say that they are stuck up. Well, of course I am going to say that Fisk is the better school. Partying is not at the top of our agendas. It is all about academics. I saw that someone said that TSU gave the best parties and I can personally say that is false. The Alphas at Fisk and Vandy give the best parties. I have yet to go to a party given by TSU that was crunk. Let's not even get on the step shows at TSU. The only thing that TSU is good for is having a high disease percentage and that is about it. Yes Fisk is small, but that is not a bad thing. There is a little chant that we have that says "We study hard, we party late, but most of all we graduate (on time)." Can you say the same about TTTSSSU? Or should I say TTTSSSTD? Can you really say that TSU students go on to Ivy league schools for their graduate degrees? As a matter of fact, can TSU students get into Fisk?
Fisk, Vandy, and Tsu are kind of like the AUC's but you don't see them knocken each other. The difference is that the AUC's are closer and they do alot more things together and no matter which one you go to visit...they treat chu right...and the admin don't act like you breakin they bones when you ask them to get up and get you an application...PLEASE...FISK AIN'T GOT NOTHIN ON TSU...AND I'VE HEARD THAT FROM PEOPLE WHO GO TO FISK...read what some of the people say about tsu on here...what do you see about fisk...NADAAAAAAAA...and i'm sure that people at fisk are f ckin people at tsu...so they spreadin through both campuses...you should be ashamed of yourself for trying to sterotype people like that...somebody from TSU probably beat cho a s and now you feelin salty
I am speaking based on what I have experienced when I was at the campus of TSU. As I said before, it is not everything that people say that it is. The people at Fisk who say good things about TSU which they were at TSU because getting a quality education is not at the top of their lists. Please believe I know this, because I know them. I have no reason to feel salty because I have a right to say what I want. Don't get mad at me because the truth hurts. The administration here is the best that I have seen on any campus. They actually take time out to get to know us. We have personal realtionships with our faculty, why, because they care. Can you say the same about TSU. One more thing before I go, the last time I read a dictionary, chu and ju did not replace the word YOU. That is that TSU education for you.
I personally think that TSU is a better school because of their canpus and the people there are mad friendly and it seemed like all of the people at Fisk were more reserved probably because it's smaller. Fisk itself just turned me off because the campus was old and run down, but the teachers seemed pretty good. Originally Fisk was my top choice, but when i saw it I was disappointed to say the least.That's why my twin sister made TSU her top choice, because not only does it have a beautiful campus but the teachers and the students seemed to be down to earth and really nice. 8)
well i am a FISK student and i must say that yes the bickering betweeen the two schools must stop. However to reply to what was said from someone at TSU who was disappointed with how the buildings looked at FISK, well that goes to show you that you didn't base your decision on academics or anything that was of importance, you based on hipness adn modern times. The reason FISK's buildings look ancient, is becaseu they are but they are well kept. We have a lot more history than any other HBCU around and we want to make sure that history stays in the wals of our buildings. We don't need new buildings every 2 or 3 years to be a good damn school, all we need are the good teachers and students we have here at FISK. As far as which school is better, it all depends on what you the person looking for a school is interested in. Yes TSU is more of a party school than FISK is everyone knows it, and yes FISK is more "conservative" than TSU, however you go to the place that satisfies your needs, and your goals. Please don't be shallow enough to base your opinion about school becaseu it's buildings or social life, becasue even though TSU is a party school let be known that at FISK, we party hard, we stay up late, and most improtantly we graduate. Also for the person who says that FISKITES be at TSU on the regular, Everytime i walk out on the yard i see a lot TSU men trying to get up on FISK women like ther is no tomorrwo or just over showing off their cars an what not. Casue if you didn't know it is well known here in nashville that TSU men love them some FISK women.
