ALL COLLEGE STUDENTS HELP... Posted on 01-02-2004

QB...is BACK!
Milwaukee, WI
Hey whats up its about time that I narrow down my choices of HBCUS, and I want everybody to represent their college or university and tell me the little thing they don't tell when you go to visit! I'm really thinking about FAMU, NC A&T, AAMU, ASU, CAU, Spelman, Tuskegee, Texas Southern. Hampton...but I want EVERYBODY to drop some information about whatever school they are at or PM... or holla at me at tta_milwaukee@hotmail.com I want to major in International Business or Business Communications with a minor in fashion design/industry, public relations or communications. Maybe meterolgoy....I want to be in a city where its a lot of stuff to do, I want to be at a school where they are supportive, and help their students stay on the right track. Let me know things about the dorm rooms, co-visitation, curfew, is their cable, can you have a car ya freshman year etc. then I know what schools to go and visit, apply to and seriously consider going to! Also let me know why you think your school is the best HBCU out there, thanks a bunch in advance to all!

Well, I would highly recommend Howard for Business. It has a very good business program. The school of business just recieved a grant for 3.1 million dollars. it also has a pretty good communications program as well if you were interested. The dorm rooms aren't that bad. There is co-visisation, cable and internet in all rooms. You can also have a car and there is NO curfew!!! ( I dont understand how people deal w/ it). As far as your greek interests.....Alpha Chapter is located at Howard University. But you already found that out when you did your research....right :?: Holla

oh i would definently choose hoWARD..ole girl was right about howard's business school, i am in the business school myself and you will meet so many black execs and major companies, its wild....believe me major people hit up our campus day in and day out and you wont get any exposure to things like that in other schools, but if you do end up in the school of business you cant have a minor because you will be totally embraced in that major, but there are so many clubs and orgs on campus if you have a particular interest in something that you almost dont need a minor to properly network like my friend is in your major but she is with an org that caters to people who want to get in a business involving sports...but if you are international business you can specialize in the majors in the school of b, such as if you want to do international business with a specialization in marketing...basically its taking your foreign language and taking business and marketing classes, if you want to go to the other school, school of communication, you can major in something in communication and minor in like business management or something, its all up to you, whether you want to deal more with the business aspect or the communications aspect on what you want to major in..ok i know youre not absolute on howard so let me stop lol....oh yeah you talked about college keeping you on track, but you have to get out of that mindset when thinking about colleges....like honestly my college has limited visitation, but we have absolutely no curfew and you can have a car your freshman year...but i mean you could go to hampton with the temporary visitation and still mess up, ya feel me...college is a place where you are supposed to mature and grow and college cant help you "stay in line"..cause if you really want to do something youre not supposed to, like procrastinating about studying, than youre gonna do it anyways..so you need to find a place where you can get the best education and learning and social experience....i mean going to college you wont have your momma and daddy there supporting you and waking you up in the morning so before you do go to college, and decide on which to apply, you need to work on motivating yourself to do the right thing no matter what. bad teachers, stupid class, whatever, so that whatever college you apply too, you wont get yourself messed up, regardless of the situation in college..i just dont wont you to limit your college possibilities because of that ya know lol
