The incoming students, Jimmy Hester and Loren Wilder, both 18, visited Hampton University on Tuesday. They selected it after also touring Morehouse College in Atlanta and Howard University in Washington, DC.
Wilder intends to major in business while Hester plans to pursue a degree in education. Both expect to play football.
Cosby arranged tours at the three schools after reading about the two teens. A newspaper in Springfield, Massachusetts reported last month that Wilder was 14 when his mother was jailed for dealing ****. Hester left home at 15 after years of moving around and fighting with his mother. He rented an apartment last winter with another classmate, 18-year-old Wesley White. They played football and kept up good grades while also working jobs to pay rent and grocery bills.
Published reports say that Cosby also offered to pay for White's education.
