I believe your room should have personality so I basically packed up my whole room and some and arranged it in a way so I would feel at home, because it will be your home for about 9-10 months ya know. Do you know how big your room is?

Class of 08, take note of what she said. DO NOT DO THIS. This is exactly how fights start between roommates. Most HBCU rooms aren't going to be larger than 14x12. That's pretty much the size of your bedroom at home. Now divide that in half. You don't have enough space in your dorm room to bring your "personality" with you. Because the thing everybody forgets is You have to share that space with another human being You also have to take into consideration what you will alrelady have. -2 Twin size bed -2 Dresser -2 Closet -2 Desk. You don't have enough room to bring all your stuff. What you need to do is call your roommate ahead of time and coordiante right now. Find out who is bringing the Fridge, who is bringing the TV, who is bringing the stereo. That way ya'll won't come in with 2 of each. Femalese are horrible for doing this, they seem to think that they need their life-size teddy bear with them in their dorm room or that they can't live unless they bring every single outfit they ever owned in their entire existance. *I didn't mention PlayStation because you really shouldn't bring that until after Thanksgiving Break or even 2nd Semester. Video games are nothing but a GIANT distraction to Freshman who haven't created a regualr studying schedule.

 Okay Okay! So I left out some important details. But I DID contact my roomate my freshman year and the only thing we shared was a T.V. We didn't share a fridge becasue THATs how most fights get started. People get greedy with your food and eat it, you come back to the room and find out somebody done ate ya damn Toster Struddles and your seeing RED. In my opinon and my drama with roomates I ALWAYS brung my own stuff because when ya'll ain't on speaking terms you wanna be able to stay on YOUR side (and this happens alot with female roomates). And I DO need every outfit I've ever worn...thats a neccesity.
