Aight could somebody really explain to me: The purpose Procedure (in general not a specific frat) The Benefits The Future The Downs of being a greek?????????? I really don't know because all of my family members that I know that are greek tell me different things. My family as a whole are in a wide range of different greek organizations. But I am really wanting to know the generics of Greek life. nobody i don't think has really said anything about it because of the people on here know more about greeks and their lifestyle than i do. so i just read wishing i knew what yall were talking about. Well enough of that if u can help me understand i would greatly appreciate it.

Well Im not greek but I'll still say what I think it is for myself The purpose- Community Service .. Although all of their community service points are different it is still community service .. Also bonding .. brother/sisterhood Procedure (in general not a specific frat)- Go to the interest meeting.. Apply .. Do an interview .. Then get voted on by all of the members (They either accept u or not) .. Then go through MIP (Membership Intake Process) The Benefits - Alot of companies look at greek life as a plus because it shows that u made a sacrifice .. stuck with it .. And you are strong .. It also shows loyalty The Future - Well ur gonna be greek forever lol Whethere ur active or not is ur choice The Downs - Sometimes greek life can change people for the worst .. Make the letters .. Dont let the letters make you

I think that the purpose is more than community service, because you can do community service by yourself. I feel that being a part of any organization that holds principles and has a certain set of goals allows you to grow and develop. Like an enpowerment; to be with people who have the same goals but different ideas. To get along with others despite the conflicting personalities. To learn. My 2 cents... 8)

Purpose: Bonding and community service- dont look at any D9 as social event Procedure: Interest meeting/Application, Vote, Intake Benefits: Networking, lifelong bonds, friends, jobs, community service, life Downs: MAke sure that you know where you want to go before picking an organization because you will sacrifice to be included. But remeber anything worth a damn is worth working for.
