CHANCELLOR WILLIAMS SPEAKS ON: WHAT IS AFRIKAN, etc
"That we are here studying a single race, not races, and a single people, not peoples, is a major theory and fact of black history and one of our principal guidelines. We are, therefore, primarily concerned only with those things which were characteristically African, practically universal among them from one end of the continent to the other and which thereby indicated an ancient common culture in a common center of Black Civilization. On this we stand.
In this light the African Constitution is discussed as a body of fundamental theories, principles and practices drawn from the customary laws that governed Black African societies from the earliest times.
The first task was to divorce traditional African institutions from those influenced by later Asian and European incursions; to determine what is truly African in origin and what is in fact either Asian or European or a reflection of any other external influence.
Another task was to determine whether an institution called 'African' was in fact African in the sense of being universal among the Blacks, a continent-wide institution in contra-distinction to something peculiar to one or more tribes, nations or African regions. This distinction is important here, for too often things are characterized as 'African' which apply only to certain societies. These represent the development of the whole complex of cultural variations about which Western writers declaim in emphasizing the 'great ethnic differences' among the people. (This is not accidental or without design. Caucasian fears about the possibility of Blacks developing a sense of oneness and unity of action is deep and centuries old).
Many subtle schemes are used to maintain divisiveness, and with success."

The Destruction of Black Civilization
yes...thank you.
i have realized through research that whites have a fear of black people. The hate is centuries old, but an anwser or theory from the **** Papers has answered question and brought up new ones.
have you seen the episode of Judge Mathis yesterday? This woman was arguing with her ex-roomate and said that her roommate tried to intimidate her boyfriend,
White Girl: "& when she returned, she had four black men with her, and..."
Judge: "What?"
White Girl: "BLACK men, 4 HUGE BLACK men"
Judge: "You mean like the boogyman? (turning to defendant) Now WHY you go to this woman's house with 4 huge black men, trying to scare her with your boogymen friends, knowing GOOD and WELL the STEREOTYPES this COUNTRY holds toward HUGE BLACK MEN! (turning back to prosecutor) Now what did the boogyman try to do to you?"
....& he kept it up the whole time, i know this girl realized her mistake as soon as she said it. This country is scared of our men, our black soldiers. I noticed whenever my white friends came over my house, the air would change as soon as my brother, or cousin, or fake cousin who's a guy, would enter the room
lol i dont think every white person has a fear of black people... but i DO think that if there is a group of white people and a black person enters it will be awkward, and vice versa because we can't fully understand each other, its like men and women
I'm feelin Chancellor Williams on that one. It reminds of alot of the text in "Decolonising The Mind" by Ngugi Wa Thiongo. In that book he talks alot about Eurocentric influences upon the African diaspora and how it effects our language, customs, and behavior. I suggest it to the REAL book readers (cuz if you're lookin for fiction...u won't be entertained by this one). But yeah, that is real. If Black people all across the globe were to loose themselves from Eurocentric bondage and truly unite, oh what a glorious day that would be. But if the powers that be did one thing right, it was effecting our mentalities & throwing us against one another. I guess the old saying holds some weight..."UNITED WE STAND...DIVIDED WE FALL"
yeah like this girl told me that girl told me a group of black girls wanted to jump her. i said just cause they're black doesn't mean they can fight. she said she knows, she just didn't want to fight them all. which i guess could be treu
