Should I Feel Bad Posted on 07-14-2004
C Diddy

Aight...I met a friend of a friend at a house party. At our initial meeting he was like give me your number (we're from the same state but he doesn't go to Hampton). So I told him of the back I have a boyfriend and me giving you my number is just for friendship purposes only. He was a cool person. Fast Forward a little...he called one day told me about how he had caught his girl cheating. I felt bad for him but I still have a boyfriend and I'm really not interested in him in that way. Fast forward again...now I'm back at home he called and we talked and he was like let's go out. I'm like that's cool. Then he asked how my BF was (it sounded like he should have asked was I with my BF then asked to take me out...but the offer was already extended and accepted). At the end of the convo he was like "Bye Babe" :? ...so I just shook it off. We go to the movies...he pays for everything (almost $40)...he asks did I want to hang out any longer maybe get some drinks...I opted to go home. Haven't heard from him since  I mean yeah it just happened on Sat. but I won't be surprised if he never calls again. I just feel bad even though I basically let him know plenty times that everything between us was null and void. Anybody ever been in this situation? How did you deal with it? or did I read too much into the whole situation?

Well on seperate occasions, you told him you had a man, and this was totatlly platonic. If he didn't want to take the hint and treat you to a night on the town, hey I don't blame you. He probably got the message after that second date... I was in a situation like that. My man was gonna be outta town for Valentine's Day and I was really upset. This somehow got down to this boy that liked me and he opted to take me out for Valentines Day. I told him I would think about it. He came back about 2 days later saying that he had ordered us a limo, two dozen roses and 30 pairs of thongs.... :? . Yep :? <<< that's the face I was making when he told me that. Due to the level of his unstableness (because who in their right mind buys another man's girl roses and thongs?....exactly, unstable) I turned down his offer. If men want to persue you AFTER you have told them you hav a man...let him buy you a few things...then tell you're man he won't leave you alone...that's not good advice is it  ?

No, you shouldn't feel bad. Why, you ask? The guy took on the risk. He knew you had a man, but decided to pursue anyways. When you go after a girl that has a man, there will always be an investment of time and money. Sometimes it will pay off, sometimes it won't. The guy takes a chance - either you two will hit it off and she will leave him for you, or she won't be interested and you're sol. He took a shot. This time it didn't pan out. He has probably realized this hence not calling you. It's nothing personal, simply you both go your own separate ways. Dayum Bella... 30 thongs..?? Some people are just pressed... Holla!

Gurl don't feel bad. You kept it real from the start so if his feelings got hurt it was because he allowed it. I still can't seem to understand why will persue a female even after he is told she is with someone. :? BellaMocha....what was that nucca thinking???? 30 thongs????WTF .

I think he was trying to pull one of those "friend with the potential of something more" move. But there was no potential in it. I guess I feel bad because I knew he was setting himself up for failure...but I still wanted to see Spiderman

I would like to edit that statement....I don't think all my guy friends WANT to bone. But WOULD bone if given the opportunity. That guy really wasn't a friend more of an acquaintance. My true male friends know the deal. My acquaintances don't so I have to be selective in everything I do and say.
