It's ironic that the main detractors of membership in greek organizations and masonic orders have established fraternal societies.
I'd be interested to know how much their rituals differ from ours and if they participate in questionable activities like hazing or intimidation.
I'm curious as well. Even the use of Greek Letters perks up my curiosity. I'm not knocking it by no means, however, I am curious in regards to how the whole christian/greek/fraternal thing works out.
Christian Frats and Sororities are all good and well but I think it is a bit off base if you are still kickin it as in smokin and drinkin like you are just an ordinary sorority...(I know someone who is like that)
Question:
What is the need for a Christian Secret Society being that Secret Societies are not of God? Isn't it enough being saved and having your "brothers and sisters" within a church? Just asking although I'm not curious...

I know I'm late but they're not "secret societies". The goal of Christian Fraternities is to "to present a Christian Alternative to the students and/or faculty on college/university campuses, to minister to the needs of the whole person (spirit, soul and body), and to promote an attitude of academic excellence among its members."....at least thats for Alpha Nu Omega. I think of it as an alternative for people who don't want to be in a D9 frat/soror but still kinda want the "greek life" except that its to spread God's Word and minister to people around campus. I've heard many good things about the Alpha(Morgan State) and Kappa Chapters(University of Maryland College Park) of ANQ because I have a friend who's brother is a part of ANQ and is in the Kappa Chapter. Personally, I don't see the problem with a Christian fraternity because if I'm not mistaken, a lot of D9 Greeks are founded on Christian principles despite the Masonic roots that fraternities are historically come from. Also, I know a LOT of Christians who are in D9 frats and sorors so I don't see the problem
i think that CGLO's are alright if they follow the values that were set for them. BUT i think some members of these org's were just letter hungry and wanted to belong to something that was "greek" affiliated.

well then in that case they might as well be in D9 also. Here at Tennessee State, we have Alpha Lambda Omega Christian Sorority but I don't think they're well known around campus.
