I was just wondering which HBCUs are known to have the highest academic standards and best reputation for excellence? I did a little research on it before, but the only schools I can still remember are...

I know there were at least one or two more on my original list, but can't remember what they were. Any glaring omissions?
Also, what academic area are these schools best known for? For example, I know FAMU has an excellent reputation for business.
Finally, what are the top 2 or 3 HBCUs to attend for an education degree?
I know that's a lot of info to ask for, but I have 3 or 4 friends considering attending HBCUs that are asking me for advice, and I don't know enough to tell them. Thanks in advance for any help.
Well All of this arguement when the research and the numbers are already there... There is no doubt that the top HBCU in the Nation are Spelman, Morehouse, and Howard. I would actually say Its alomost to close between Morehouse and Howard. Howard is a great institution by itself but Morehouse and Spelman are nationally recognized as the Best institutions of higher education for African-Americans. I will acknowledge that Hampton is a good school, as are all HBCU, but as a current high school students I know absolute morons who are completely unmotivated that got in to Hampton because Hampton as little to no acadamic standards. Hampton's minimal G.P.A requirement is 2.3, [only 2% of students graduted high school with a 3.75 or higher] and the average SAT scores for the incoming class is 1000 out of 2 sections. Plus the acceptance rate is I mean as far as Hampton being the "Harvard of the South" I must disagree because Hampton does not posses the financial nor the academic resources to be compared to Harvard in any circumstance. I guess people are forgetting that Harvard is the Best school in the WORLD. Oh and By the Way morehouse is one of the best feeder schools to ivy league grad schools in the world 29th to be exact.
