I dont think its so much as me..staying in one place and not advancing. I mean hell this is the furthest and longest time I've spent away from my mom. My mom doesnt baby me either. She knows that I do my own thing down here and college and that I'm the only one who can make decisions for ME. All I'm saying is I realize that I'm only...****18 about to be 19. That my mother is STILL my main provider and that it's STILL a lot of things that I have yet to learn in my life. The point in my life when I'll say that I'm grown is when I'm A. Out on my own B. Being my own finacial advisor I mean I'm STILL young...as are you despite how much older you feel you have advanced in your life...your biological clock says your 18 or 19 you know? Enjoy the time that you have away from you people...enjoy not having the burden of paying bills and going to work everyday. Enjoy being able to kick it and hang whenever you want too. Enjoy going on dates and having your first love your first crush. Enjoy not having to worry about how your going to provide food/shelter for yourself because you know someone else is doing it for you. Enjoy being muh fuccking 19 dammit. I'm going to ride this bytch out...Am I a lil kid? No...but I love my age. I might not LOOK 18 but I LOVE being this age. Not having to worry about those things that GROWN folks do. Because trust me its more to being grown then you think it is. I'm wiser and more knowledgeable then A LOT of people my age. Ask the people who have spoken to me off HBCU or even the same people we know Brett. The things I've seen in my life...makes it easier for me to say I'll take my time growing up. Everyday in my life I move forward...never taking steps backwards. I realize my mistakes, grasp them, then learn a better way to approach certain situations. Thats apart of GROWING up...I'd rather grow then automatically be grown.

Being grown is a mental thing. My peers no longer have the power to sway me. I am on my own thing. I am focused on my future, and the goals I have set. Believe me I KICKS it. ALL the time. I enjoy my youthfulness. You can be youthful and grown. No one said you couldnt be both! But when Im out, Im responsible. Periodically, I find myself responsible for my girls. And my parents don't pay for me to kick it. I use money from MY LOANS. The loans I HAVE TO PAY OFF. A lot of things I am enthusiastic about, others my age are not. My friends come to me for advice, because it's been said that I have an "old soul". Im not saying that I can stand on my own two feet financially. But your financial state is merely one aspect evaluated in determinig your "grownness". Think about it. There are grown men who are homeless. The key thing is that they've made decisions, life-altering decisions, that placed them where they are now. No one tells them that they arent grown yet. Its about the way you approach situations, and your ability to make your own decisions. Everyday I take actions that will effect my future, either positively or negatively. Do you this Paris Hilton doesn't consider herself grown? Shes living off money set aside for her by her parents and grandparents. There are GROWN adults who still arent financially sound... 50-yr-olds living with their parents. If we had to wait til we were financially sound to be grown, we would have a world full of children.

****. Do you think Paris Hilton is grown? How can someone possibly be grown if all they do is party every night. No job, no responsibilities at all except for her dog "Tinkerbell" :???: . Just cause someone is a certain age doesn't mean their grown. And if you aren't fully independent or haven't gone thru things in life which have made you fully realize the responsibilities of a true adult. How can you actually be grown? Just cause I think I'm better than Michael Jordan still doesn't change the fact he could beat me 16-0. And to go back to Paris Hilton, she'll prolly never grow up. She has no reason to. She's 23 and acts younger than the average 9th grader.

That what Im sayin. Just because she has money doesn't mean she's grown. But Im sure she considers herself grown. How much money you have does not determine that. Obviously you only read bits and pieces. Grown is your mentality.

Yeah i thought you were trying to say she was. But nah, I don't read bits and pieces. Look up at what I bolded. Just because I think I'm something doesn't mean I am. I can think I can beat Mike Tyson's ****, I can think I can outrun Maurice Greene, I can think I can fly. But is any of that gonna happen? No. But do I believe it? Yes. But that doesn't change the fact that just because I think something it's not real. Just like if a person thinks they're grown and actually believe it, it doesn't mean they actually are.

I think we all perceive "being grown" differently... You all obviously think it means to be completely self-sustaining financially. While I see it as making your own choices, not being swayed by others, and knowing what you want to do in life... not having as much to do with your financial state, but more your mental state.
