HAS ANYONE FROM HOWARD RECEIVED ANYTHING IN THE MAIL INVOLVING THEIR DORM ROOM ASSIGNMENTS? JUST CURIOUS TO KNOW BECAUSE I HAVEN'T RECEIVED ANYTHING AND I DON'T WANNA END UP DORM-LESS LOL....
I stayed in the Annex last year and I wouldnt have had it any other way. The social scene in the Quad is definitely better, but your dorm experience will be what you make of it. When I felt like clownin' and getting away, I went and chilled with my friends in the Quad and in other dorms, but I knew that when I wanted some peace and quiet that I could always count on that staying in the Annex so I felt like I got the best of both worlds (plus me and my roomie grew to be like sisters). No matter where you stay, you got to get out and meet people in other dorms. If you limit yourself to your roomies, suitemates, people on your floor, etc. then it'll get old real quick. Good luck to all the incoming freshmen! I hope your first year will be as enjoyable as mine. Maybe I'll see some of ya'll around in the Annex next year

I have the same assignment...after they had already assigned me to a triple in Crandall.
Well last year they first sent me a Frazier dorm assignment and then later they sent me a truth dorm assignment..Well when I came to check in my name was under Truth hall so I would believe that you are really gonna be in the Annex...But I advise you to call and try to stay in the Crandall Triple...

I was gonna call and have them change it back, but I know how easily distracted I am. I think I will be able to get more accomplished as far as schoolwork and maintaining my scholly in the Annex. I's like NaushiZ
said, I will still have friends in the Quad to clown with when the time comes, but I can always go to my own room and not worry bout getting done what needs to be done. Please believe that just because I'm in the Annex that I will not be spending all my time there. I plan to make the most of the experience.

Annex is cool as far as studying but i like to keep my dorm life seperated from my academic/studying time... i would usually go to health sceience library to study or i would go to a friend room in the annex but i wouldn't give up livin in the quad as a freshman.... but girl i know u'll have fun!!! good luck

Your advice is greatly appreciated. I am still not 100% about my decision yet :? but it does help to hear about you all's experience.

:lol: THANKS A LOT for the post, I'll be a tranfer student in the fall and I really want to be in the annex, but some seniors that I had talked to personally told me that they preferred the other dorms better but I HAVE to have peace & quiet & keeping my academic life & social life separete is a MUST. But anyway just glad to know that someone was on the same page as I was. I'll holla back when I get my assignment--QB'07 :wink:
Hey!! I finally got my housing assignment and I am in a double in the Annex at first I was kind of bummed about the whole experience thing but after reading the post its all good. Anyway I wish I could chat with my classmates more but I spilled water in my computer :cry: and am not able to get online unless I'm over a cousins but anyway I can't wait to meet you all!! HU 08'
