I've been doing a little research on a few frats and they all hint at their religion, but I haven't read anywhere that to become a member you must believe in a certain religion. I myself am not religious and was wondering if this would impede my acceptance into a letter organization.

How about you need a relationship with God anyway? You are focused on the wrong thing. You better be focused on where you are going to spend eternity! There's a guarantee that not a one Greek organization can get you into heaven! You better be joining the real Alpha and Omega group. God is the beginning and the End! You better get your priorities straight!
i cant have a relationship with a god i dont believe in. i dont believe there's a heaven anyone can get me into. i know i'll spend eternity six feet under. i thought my priorities were alright, i guess improving my educational experience shouldnt be one of them.
How's that conflict? I'm just stating the facts. I'm not going to get into a religious argument with anyone. Everyone has to make a choice for themselves where they are going to spend eternity. God leaves people the choice. God loves everyone and he also loves everyone to the point where He will let people make the decision if they want to go to hell. You are your own free moral agent. God doesn't send people to hell, they send themselves! Anyway, Tonygee I"m not trying to rain on your parade, but just make the decision because don't be deceived, there is a hell and there is a heaven. You don't spend eternity in the "ground".
Have you read the story of the rich man and Lazarus in the Bible? There was a rich man who had a lot of wealth, and there was a poor man named Lazarus who asked for some food from the rich man. The rich man turned down the offer to give him food, and the bible describes that dogs came and licked the sores on Lazarus. Both the rich man and Lazarus died. Lazarus ascended into paradise (a place they were held before Jesus died on the cross), and the rich man descended into hell. The rich man was in torment in hell, and he saw Lazarus afar off in paradise. He asked Lazarus if he could just dip his finger in the water to give him a drop to quench his thirst from all of the fire and torment he was in. Abraham told the rich man in hell that there was a engulf fixed around them, that they could not go into hell and the people in hell couldn't go into paradise. So the rich man tells Abraham if he could just go warn his brothers that were still alive on earth, not to come to this terrible place called hell. Abraham told him, well they have the prophets on Earth. If they don't listen to the prophets, what makes you think they are going to listen to a ghost.
Anyway, to make a long story short. You have the prophets today that warn people about hell so don't be like the Rich man described in the Bible that was deceived and didn't believe there was a hell, because there is! The only thing you have to do is believe in Jesus, and confess OUT LOUD
Sorry didn't finish my reply. The only thing you have to do is believe that Jesus is the Son of God and that he died on the cross for your sins and he rose again. Say an OUT LOUD confession that you believe Jesus died and rose again to forgive you of your sins. Ask that he might come into your heart and be your Lord and Savior. That is a very simple thing to do. Don't reject Jesus, because he loves you so much that he took a painful death on that cross just for you. He came for the world, but he came individually for you, so don't reject him. You ties Jesus's hands when you reject him, because he let you be the free moral agent to decide where you want to spend eternity. I hope this helps you, and I will pray that the eyes of your understanding be opened. The devil is a loser and he has already lost, so don't let him take you to a hell that was meant for him.
Why would I profess my belief in God and Jesus, etc. if I did not and cannot truly believe? I dont have the faith in the same things you do. My time in the church tells me that that verbal confession means nothing without the service. I dont believe and wanted to make sure that wasnt a prereq for intake. All it was, no Bible lesson necessary.
Alright, well I will leave you alone then. If God can't change you, who else can? Anyway, I was just trying to help, but I will let you know that you will be held accountable. When you hear the word and reject it, you will be held accountable. I hope you get a revelation of God before it is to late, because God has sent laborers in your path for a reason. It isn't by chance that I gave you that example in the Bible, because I wasn't even thinking on those lines. It was him giving me that scripture to give to you, but anyway know that God loves you. He loves you enough to let you make the choice to believe in him or not. The choice is yours. Anyway, take care.
