If you went to an HBCU undergrad, would u go to one for grad school or would you go to a PWU? Why would you make this decision?
BTW- props to all those going to grad school! 8)
"naw, we don't like boats, we don't like large bodies of water, we don't like cotton, we don't like white sheets, we don't like big trucks, we damn showl don't like rope and we don't like trees either!" he just sat there lookin stupid and I had proved my point...
****!!
that sounds like something i would say
But im going through the same problem now when im looking for programs for grad school. I most likely wont go to an HBCU for grad school. I wanted to go to an HBCU for undergrad so that I could get that "experience". I think that experience is really for undergraduates and its not really for graduate schools.
At Howard, the graduate school may be majority african american, but Medical School and Law Schools have a significantly larger percentage of whites and asians than undergrad and i think its like that at other schools.
and I haven't found any HBCU's with programs that I want to do anyway.
^ Neither have I. But hey, at least I got the undergrad experience. If I go to Georgia State then I will be in the heart of ATL so at least I could go to Afro-American events 8)
Well, When i go grad, I think I would feel more comfortable staying at an HB, its very secure and yes we have our problems but I think they would continue to look out more than PWI's. You know honestly, I dont know what it is but since I have enjoyed the HB experience sooo muchhhh, I would be scared to go to a PWI...probally have to show my color Good luck on everyone's decision.
Yeah Ga St. would be a good choice..you can alwayz go down to the AUC to escape.
Im definitely attending a PWI for grad school...Im applying to NO HBCU's...lol...I think by spring 2007 Ima be tired of being around just black people...time to move on to something different...
