Things that make you feel old Posted on 06-11-2004

We're all grown up (or some of us), and we're not getting any younger, either. What are some things that make you feel old? The O.J. Simpson case When i look back at video games When i see an one of my favorite cartoons from back in the day When i think about the fact that im knee-deep into college When i look at my little brother...and see that he's not so "little" anymore (damn that lil boy done got big) I'm into politics, I read the newspaper When marriage isn't that far away anymore When I noticed the fact that I've calmed down a lot since freshman year I've got hair all over my face now (I look SO young in my avatar pic) When i can drink around my dad When marriage doesn't seem so unrealistic anymore

I went to visit a teacher that I had in elementary school. First off, when I was a student there, I swer to God that school was like a big **** cavern. When I walked into the room the teacher was really suprised to see me. She had GREY HAIR!!! Teachers aren't supposed to age!! Ugh... Then what's worse, is that she intrduced me to all the first graders in there and gathered them on the floor and asked me some questions about school. Like she did when we had a visitor in her class!! AAAHHH!! I went over to my old desk and couldn't even sit in the chair! And all the little people were so... little... I swear I was bigger than that when I was 5... :?

I know  I went to my old elementary school and they still have my painting up from when I was in the 4th grade. I drew some flowers or some crap and they loved it so much they framed it and put a lil picture of me and placed it in the frame. My old art teacher saw me and wanted me to talk to her students about art. I don't know sh!t about art I was just painting for goodness sakes. I had to sit there and lie to these children and make up some crap about art.

Things that make me feel old.... Watching reruns of old tv shows I use to watch back in the day. Seeing my baby cousins grow up so fast. I remember my aunties being pregnant with them...and me holding them as infants when I was younger and now I look at them and they are already 11 and 12...it seems like I was just holding them yesterday... The fact that I am 19 already...I swear, as cliched as it sounds, it seems like I just became a teenager...and I am already living my last year as a teen. Its like where did the time go... The fact that my bday gets here faster every year. *whats so ironic about it is that when i was lil it seemed like it would take forever for my bday to come...and my mom was like u better stop wanting it to come so fast cause when u get older the, years and bdays come faster and faster and now I am seeing the reality in that. It seems like I just turned 19...and Im already 19 and a half that fast. * The fact that my lil sister is about to turn 16 in august...and will be a junior in high school....My lil sis is growing up so fast...and its hard for me to treat her like a young woman than a young girl...cause she is growing up so fast on me. Before I know it she gonna be graduating from high school Damn...looking back at all this really does make me feel old. Its like the older we get the less room we have for immaturity....meaning we need to get all out that crazy mess we doin outta our systems cause before we know it...we gonna be too old to acting the way we do...and we really gonna have to GROW DA FUKK UP....

Or when I go back home to visit, waiting for everyone I know to come back home to, and all I want to do is rest child!!! When my lil cousins is just going to kindergarden and i look at my old pictures looking at the photo quality, and things I used to wear (i.e. bangs, cross colors, biker shorts, etc.) AND I AM ONLY 19!!!!

-Going to my brother's 6th grade and 8th grade promotions and remembering when I promoted from there - Saying " don't make me take off my belt" to lil kids - Watching my cousins play things I used to play like double dutch - Going to my brother's "back to school night", signing his progress reports because I'm "an adult" - My 4 year old nephew talkin about school and asking me " did they have that when YOU were in school Lisha?" Like it's been hella years since I was in kindergarten
