Are there any Organizations where branding is a requirement? My old step team coach is a Sigma and he had a brand on his arm, however I didnt think to ask him at the time.

How about you are in High School and you don't know what you are talking about? Until you get to college and experience certain things, refrain from giving opinions. It's funny that folks that haven't been to college or have Greek members in their family are quick to give an opinion. LOL Most of the Kappas I know and Omegas, do have brands. Alphas and Sigmas usually don't have them. I'm not saying that it is right for them to make them get brands but most Kappas and Omegas have them as a part of their pledging experience. I'm sure the Nationals would frown upon that ritual if they found out but it still goes on. Kappas and Omegas at PWI's and HBCU's normally have brands. You might find older Kappas and Omegas without them, but the new generation have them.

Can you clarify the difference between a "National" requirement and a requirement amongst the members? You have me confused about that.
Don't try to play dumb! LOL You know that fraternity's do things that wouldn't get the approval from Nationals. Hazing still goes on. They make those boys get brands, most of them probably don't have a choice. It's either get a brand or get your tail beat! You have to choose: Either a black eye, broke arm, or a brand? LOL Most of the guys are glad to get one, because most of them are proud to have gone through the experience and are proud of their fraternity. I guess it is more of a bonding thing. If the rest of the line brothers are getting a brand, why miss out?
Ehhhh, it's not about playing dumb, National Offices have nothing to do with branding, or tattooing for that matter. No one is forced to get a brand just as no one is forced to participate in hazing. It's all YOUR decision. I know at least one person in every BGLO with and without a brand (sororities included) and their brands were their decision, none were required.
Two of my six line brothers have brands (one even branded himself :rolleyes and the rest of us don't have any, I guess we missed out...NOPE! Didn't/don't want one.

I can give my opinion at my sole discretion, just as you can and have. Just because there are a couple of members who have chosento be branded, that doesn't all of a sudden make it a "requirement" by any means.
My brother is a Kappa and he does not have a brand. On the other hand my father being an omega does have a brand, but i think that was his decision to have a brand. My dad did not get a brand on his buttocks lol. He got one on his leg and arm.
