This really goes out to the BGOL's but also to social orgs in general. I notice the mentioning of such phrases like "Greek Love" and "Greek Unity" etc., but why does it seem like people hardly mean it sometimes. Actions speak louder then words, and in my experiences on campus, with other greeks, and even some things i've observed on this site I noticed that there are some petty attitudes between orgs, and being the Neo that i am, I don't fully understand why yet.
Where do they come from? Why even waste the energy "beefing" with another org over some arbitrary things? Even if its not as serious as beef why are ill comments directed at each other? Is it really that serious? Does Greek Unity just include the D9 (i understand there is a connection between BGLO's but what happens with the other orgs on campus including aux even tho they aren't greek). I just want to hear what some other people's thoughts are on here including those on the outside looking in.

^^I was speaking in general here. On my campus the Greek love is very evident. Lots of us were cool with one another before we had letters and that did not change. A lot of the Greek events on my campus are joint activities- planned by one particular org- but involve ALL Greeks. I can appreciate that a great deal because I have seen/heard some horror stories elsewhere. I think the older Greeks have a better sense of "Greek Unity" because they get along better and they are not wrapped up in the pettiness of being undergrad/neo<--no offense to neos. Grad Greeks are about business and not so much the competition aspect. Just my additional $.002 there :wink:

Outside of that first statment i'm feeling 99% of what u were saying. I just hope we as a people can get it together and not loose sight of what the founders of these organizations were trying to accomplish.

Word!? didn't here about it but thats crazy because for the most part especially from my experiences down here we are one big happy family. Especially since alot of people in CAU are both. PM me when u get a chance about that incident.

NOT TRUE... why is it because me and.... we'll call her "SARAH", don't get alone... all of a sudden its a greek situation. We didn't like eachother before.. so just because we are greek we have to like eachother now?? I'm not sayin I'm gonna put on my letters and act a monkey when I have to be around her, but if we don't get along, its just me and her, not ZphiB and her crew. The end.. believe what u want but greek luv is for real on T's campus....

Even though I'm a non -greek......I still think Greek Unity is essential..
In my opinion.....I think greek fighting outside the playful rivalry is horrible...I feel offended as a person outside the black greek organization because these organizations are a symbol of uplifting black people...However people figting does not uplift the black race or encourage black students to stay in school or keep positive...

Even if u did read a post that got out of hand .. HBCU only represents a VERY VERY VERY VERY small percentage of ALL greeks .. So I hope no one uses this website to define greek unity :arrow:
