You are right. You asked about the social aspect of Greeks and there is nothing wrong with that. There is a huge "social" part of the equation of the Greek culture. Anyway, I couldn’t tell you exactly who is the most popular or has the best step shows because it varies from different campuses. I would say that the most popular would be Delta for sororities (because they have the largest membership worldwide) and a close tie between Alpha and Kappa for the most popular. The most appealing to ladies would be Kappa’s. The best step strolls would be Kappa and AKA because Kappa’s have a cool shimmy and AKA’s because they have a lot of signals/symbols and chants (mirrors, ivy leaf, etc.) Anyway, this is all my opinion.
Usually, I don't entertain plain foolery...but you're joking right? If you are interested in joining a BGLO, I hope that the questions you asked are not your primary reasons. BGLOs are so much more than who's the most popular, crunkest strolls...etc. What you probably should've asked is "How does XYZ contribute to the community or on campus, what is XYZ's purpose?" I suggest you do your research.

Exactly
besides, it always varies from yard to yard. Although most people base their choice off of their yard and whats goin on there, i think sometimes u have to look at the total package. I could care less if my sorority was the popular sorority on my yard or not. We came up and were always respected because we did our thing so far as service and we came through right
OMG!!! I hope these questions don't influence anyone to join an organization. Ur answers are gonna vary based upon school and people. I would like to see some posts where people ask some quality questions like what type of community service do ur orgs participate in. I mean for real people.

You can find that info on the national websites or individual chapter websites about the community service each org participates in. He didn't have to ask that here. I think he wanted information that he couldn't find on any national websites such as the social aspect of the Greek culture on various campuses. You must admit that is what fascinates or draws people to join Greek orgs. People would be telling a lie if they claim the only reason they wanted to join was because of community service. Greek life is more about the social scene than it is of community service. When I was in college, they advertised more of the parties than they did the community service. You constantly saw fliers that advertised "Come out to our parties. Ladies in free before 10:00!" I never saw any fliers that advertised "Come out to help with our community service projects!" LOL Now, that's being real. I noticed that only a few people, who are Greek, actually keep it real. Please don't try to deceive people. People on the outside know the real deal about the Greeks by just observing.
My point in saying all of this is that the starter of this thread treysizzle had much of a right to ask about the social aspect of Greek culture such as step shows and who's the most popular. The Greek life is centered around the social scene. I don't understand why everyone is so surprised that he asked that type of question. That is what most people see on college campuses. They don't see all of the community service projects being advertised. They see the fliers for step shows and parties. If the Greeks want people to feel differently, maybe they should cut out some of the partying and stepping on the yard if they want to be thought of seriously.
