I was listening to Fat Joe's new song Lean Back and he used the "N" word numerous times in that song. As far as I know Fat Joe isn't Black, but nobody seems to mind him saying it. How do you guys feel? Should Eminem be able to use to "N" word. Should anybody from another race be able to use it.
Humming... N-I-G-G-A-R... the Niggar family!!!
No seriously...
I am not upset at Fat Joe for doing it because it is reflective of a larger trend.
I do, however, think that we should stop using that terminology to refer to ourselves, and those who look like us. Holla!
I do not think anybody should use the N*gga, it is degrading toward the black race, and putting us back in a state of inferiority.
****
and **** are 2 VERY different things.........
**** means and Ignorant **** Person.......
And I call white people that ALL tha time

Honestly, the N word doesn't really bother me. If you really look at it, it's just like any other put down. Granted it does have a very deep history, one in which we as a people used to have to take it. But just like any other insult, I say move on. There's so much more to life than worrying about what someone is calling you or saying, esp. when we all claim we dont care what ppl think anyway.

I dont care what people say but thats not really even the issue. Its all about respect.

It's funny how "some" people don't mind him saying it but almost had a heart attack when J-Lo said it in I'm Real  .
I have this friend at work (she's black) and the area she lives in there are only white kids w/ jeans 2 their ankles that blast Eminem music allday(so I guess they consider that "black"). So, one of her friends (white kid w/ baggy jeans) came up to the job and she introduced us and ol' girl shook my hand and was like what's up my nugka WHOA...I had to step back 3 steps and ask her what she said again, and I guess it clicked that she should not repeat herself, but I just told my Coworker 2 check her girl b4 she get checked. In her neighborhood it's ok but you gotta let her know Mayfair and North Philly is mad different, she gon' mess around and get the girl hurt
I feel that as long we use it as a people we shouldnt be surprised when another race says it. Disrespect is disrespect no matter who it comes from.
I couldn't agree more. I have been waiting for somebody to say that. I hate the word when we use it but it is hypocritcal to restrict others from disrespecting us when we disrepect ourselves daily.
