What do yall think of my top 5 list?

Spelman College- I've always wanted to go here. But it's out of state & pretty pricey. Tennessee State University- It's in-state, sounds fun, but has a pretty sucky PARTY SCHOOL ONLY rep. Fisk University- It's in-state, sounds sorta boring, but has a great rep. Howard- It's super far from Memphis! But it sounds fun and it seems like a good school for learning. Tuskegee- It's out of state, too. It seems like an un-interesting school, but it also seems like a great place to learn. What do yall think? Is living out of state REALLY that hard? I'm sure I can get some scholarships, so money is not top-priority. I'm just worried about leaving home...

Leaving home is not too hard. I mean it hasnt been hard for me and im 800 miles away from home. I like the independece and not having anyone to answer to. But for some people its harder to adjust. Espically if you depend on your parents for a lot of things. But after a week or two most people get over the home sick attitude and start enjoying themselves more because they make new friends and join organizations in school.

Thats great that you are considering Fisk. It is a great school. But, I chose Fisk over my other top school becuase Fisk did a better job of helping me with my finanicial aid package and all the other issues you take into account when its almost May 1st and you need to make a decsion. The enviorment at Fisk was different from most the schools I was looking at. Its very small and has a family feel. When you come on campus you will feel all the love in the air. Everyone is so nice and welcoming and they try so hard to make sure you are comfortable here at Fisk. If you have anymore questions just ask. I will definately not suga coat anything if you really wanna know.

At Spelman you won't have out of state tuition! Just to let you know, but it's pretty pricey alone. But TENNESSEE STATE UNIVERSITY and FISK, are right up the road from me. I'm always at TNST, and believe me it's always poppin there, lol! From the party atmosphere to just being a good school, that's a good choice! Fiskkkkkk, loveeeeeee it! It's on my list as well. Fisk might not be the most exciting school there, but they will prepare you good for the real world, plus Fisk and TNST are pratically on the same capus, so you can go there for enjoyment. If you're into the greeks and the bands and stuff like that then those are great schools for you. Now, SPELMANNNNNNN!!!! lol, thats my love! You already know what Spelman has to offer, intelligent blk women and good looking men next door. LOLLL. It's in a great city and the campus makes you really feel at home. Your list is similar to minus Tuskegee. I wish you nothing but the best of luck, and pray that we meet at the top.!!! C/O 09!
