Personally I don't think there is a such thing as acting Black. But I have came across ignorant ppl who say I act white, because i speak proper english and I'm articulate. Please post your opinions
Truthfully speaking, "acting black" can probably be used synonomously with "acting ignorant." Think about it. Most of the time when someone is acting black they are generally being loud (i.e. cursing someone out, neck weaving, etc), not using correct grammar, not wearing their clothes properly (i.e. sagging) and etc.
yea..Trying to fit into a certain sterotype is when someone acts "Black"..
In my opinion, they is a such thing as "acting Black". Black people have a certain way we talk, walk, dress, sing, and etc. that apart of our culture and due to our African ancestory and when "other" people imitate that, I see it as "acting Black". Just like you would go to Ireland, come back and dress and talk like they do. You are acting Irish.
People used to always tell me that i sound white because i talk very proper...i mean my family raised me to talk to the correct way and if that means talking "White" then so be it

Yea, I recieve the white jokes as well but not only because of how I speak. They say everything about me is "white",including my skin complexion, hair, eyes etc...It was really difficult to deal with when I was younger but now It doesnt bother me as much. Why cant a person be themselves with being described as white or black.Thats just something you cannot act out.As long as youre not hurting anyone, I say you should be yourself with no regrets.
