happy birthday.. well i just turned 18 in april and what my mother has been telling me for years came true. "just because u 18 doesnt mean you are grown" . i didnt know what she meant when she kept saying that but now i do. u are grown when u are out paying your own bills and not dependent on anybody but yourself. but it takes you to grow up to realize this. growing up increase your maturity ( well for some people) which is supposed to make u a better person. i am also scared of what the future holds...not only is growing up scary but it also gives you a reality check. thank the lord you got to see another b-day-count this day a blessing but also live it up to the fullest..u only turn 19 once.

Happy Birthday!!! Since my 18th my birthday, my mother has prefaced her well wishes with the statement" You are not grown!!!! You might be getting close but you aren't there yet!" At any rate to answer the question, being grown is not just the ability to pay bills and take care of oneself by oneself but its also a maturity level. Its how one handles themselves in any given situation. There are plenty of people over 60 that aren't grown yet! Just my little two cents worth.

^^^I completely agee. EJ, i wouldn't say that growing up "scares" me. I take life as it comes. But i will say this, i'm not one of those people that are so quick to say "I'm a grown a** woman/man". That seems to be the new cute thing, and everybody claims to be "grown". I won't even front, i have responsibilties, but i'm still a big ole kid btw. HAPPY BIRTHDAY SWEETY!!! Kisses to ya...MWAH! and how come i wasn't invited to the party???
