I was just wondering when does everyone else take their lines and it is ALWAYS at the same time .. Like last fall our Zetas took a line but they didnt take one in the spring which is unusual because they usually take both .. The Sigmas took a fall line but this year they are taking a Spring line .. Deltas have always taken a Spring line .. AKAs didnt have a line ..
The Sigmas probated for about 1 hour and 15 minutes .. Deltas 2 hours .. Zetas 30 minutes .. What about your campus?
Thats on our campus, but some campuses do it twice, some cross in the fall rather than in the spring (line-technical difficulties) Most of the probate shows are around 3 hours.. the Omegas went from 10:08 am til 1pm.. DST from 2:13 til like 5pm.. AphiA from 2:06 til 7pm... Sigmas i think 11:14 to 1pm (it was raining really bad)..ZphiB from 7:20pm til 10pm... DIdn't watch SGRho or Iotas.. No Kappas or AKAs crossed... The content of the shows will not be discussed, but since you asked for their duration... i gave 'em...
Note: The above times are completely FALSE. I was at all the aforementioned probates and the times are extremely exaggerated. Thank you, carry on...
....
umm.. no.. this isn't even an argueable point, but imma do it anyway cuz you r f*cking w/ credibiltiy:
 the Zetas started at 7:20.. it ended at like 10 (my choir just finished rehersal)...
 the Ques started right after my chem class (at 10:08 in the valley) and their probate went til one(at the plot).. and then they started the BBQ..
 the Deltas started in the middle of the Que BBQ (by the Quad) at 2:13, and went until right after the cafe opened... (that would be 4:45 and after)..
 the AphiAs were late w/ theirs.. e'rybody was told that they were starting at noon, but they actually started at 2:36 (or at least the time they got on the yard)... they finished e'rything (the stepping and going to the plot) I BELIEVE that they got out at around 7 ISH, becuz me and my friend decided to go late to choir practice... so it was prolly closer to 6 than to 7.. this is the ONLY one that I concede that my timing might have been off.....
 the sigmas began in the rain before my english class (before 11:30) and finished during it (around 1).....
SOOOOOOOOO.. if you think I made that up, I can give you the full summary of the probates (much to the oldheads chagrin).. I was at all of them also, except the Iotas and the SGrhos... so... don't f*ck w/ my credibilty fellow Bison....
now.. back to our regularly scheduled posting... sorry for digressing, but he was tryna make me look foolish... can't have that now can we?
I dont know about everyone else, but i went to the Zeta Probate and it was from about 7-10 and i remember that
^^Dang, she even had the times...lol. Anyways, XU has a "Neophyte Show" the last Saturday in October every fall. You get your tickets, go to tha Barn and watch everyone come out ...none of that free stuff at XU..lol. Typically everyone has a line yearly unless they are off the yard for one reason or another.
Im mad u gotta pay!!! I would be mad if I was someone's parent
^^cosigns... not w/ e'rybody on the same day.. thats kinda squeezed... I like the anticipation of "Who is crossing today?" "Well, I heard that XYZ was crossing at noon.." "Nope, my cuzin's best friend is crossing and she told her that it was at 7pm.." I luv it... if we had to pay at HU... damn.. people would be unhappy.. I think it would also detract from the anonymous-ness (word?) of the whole thing... people that come to probate shows are not ALL interested in Greek Life, but I think that if we had to pay, the people that wanted to be Greek would end up being the only ones there apart from fam and fellow Greeks... and that doesn't go well w/ discreetness.... oh well...

Morehouse Probates are always at night...
The Alphas have done Fall Lines the last two years which is out of the ordinary...but they usually cross a line every year. Between 14-22 ppl
The Sigmas usually cross two lines a year Fall and Spring. Between 3-8 ppl
The Kappas usually have spring lines but their last line was in Spring 2003 Between 18-22
The Omegas are sparadic with their lines they had lines in Spr 02, but none in 03 and then two lines this past year Fall 03 and Spring 04 (shout out to my best friend Mitch the 10 from Spr. 04) Between 7-17 ppl
Alphas also probate in front of MLK Chapel...MLK was an Alpha
Sigmas used to probate on the Strip by CAU..not anymore though..maybe DEHYDRASHUN can explain why
Kappas probate in front of Forbes Arena because he was a Kappa
Omegas always probate in front of Kilgore Campus Center because he was a Que....but then again more than half of the buildings at Morehouse are named after Omegas.
And of course the times are consistent with their founding years: 7:06, 8:11, 9:14, 10:11...etc
Hampton does spring lines. Usually you know when a line is coming because random blank flyers pop up. They may have something that you associate with the organization. Then from then on everybody is kinda on the look out for about a week. Then the day of flyers with the time will pop-up. Last year probates were held in the student center because our yard is under construction. Which was kinda better because everyone could see and parents and family could sit.
Which was kinda better because everyone could see and parents and family could sit.
That is a major problem in the AUC...you can never see a probate unless your standing on top of a chair, trash can..someone else!
I've always said probates should be held in the football stadium so everyone could see!
^^^ They get better turn outs too...but I can see the significance of having it outside at certain schools since the march to their plots and other significant places on campus.
All of the greeks at my school they only had spring lines come out....with the exception of the Iotas...but they didnt probate either. And you usually know when a probate for a certain org is coming out because they usually happen during the organizations weeks, and pass out flyers...For example: Sigma Week, Delta Week, etc...and when it list the activites going on by that org for the week it will mention the time of the probate without saying its an actual probate. Just gotta read between the lines. And they usually probate on the intramural field...
