do u think our rivalries run as deep as pwc rivalries... In mississippi u have pretty much Miss. ST. fans and ole miss fans... Miss st. fans probabally pray to god every nite for all ole miss fans to catch cancer and die and ole miss fans vica versa...now at jsu we hate alcorn with a passion because they are in the same state but most people have family from both jsu and alcorn so we must have some sort of peace...but with Southern....it is a different story...if every SU alumin, student and fan dropped **** right now me nor any other jsu affiliate would shed a tear..... there are always atleast 20-30 fights at the game.both schools have a bunch of fans and both teams want to dominate the swac... (Southern has the best fans and homefield advantage in black college football period. they were i n jackson tailgating that tuesday before our game on sat.) there is no peace.. u have THE BOOM VS. THE JUKEBOX...THE TIGERS VS. THE JAQS.. THE DOLLS VS THE JAYCETTES.....I remember being in soops after the SU game and seeing this cat gett his **** beat and clothes ripped because he had on a su jersey..at bball games there are many times where objects are thrown.. I never realized how deep it went till one of my uncles refused to get me a bday or any kind of gift because i went to jsu....i know many rivalries run like this..do u think our rivalries match pwc's..i do because it is more than a game it is personal.. we fight over this isht

yes i would have to say that Michigan vs. Michigan State is huge and Michigan vs. The Ohio State is very huge. The big House sits more than a 100,000 people biggest in north america. And it's always a sell out plus it's all over the place video games tv espn so i think that may be the biggest in sports let alone college...
I think that for PWV rivalries, its more about the actual sport (FSU vs UF/Miami..Army vs. Navy/Airforce.... Harvard vs. Yale.. University of Michigan vs. MSU,OSU, PSU, the entire big ten conference).. like at the end of the game.. they look at who won... I've been involved in a couple of bonfires at my hometown.. that ****is hilarious..
In HBCUs, we look at the bands for the most part... (during football season).. otherwise, its not that serious.. like.. I won't **** a nigguh ova a game, but we might buck.... I won't fight him just because HU lost.. I'd prolly fight him cauz his girl was talking ****and I already whooped her a$$... :roll:
I beg to differ on that one. At rivalry games between HBCU's fights happen often. Also most people do not go just for the band...some do, some don't. Now the band is a big part of going to the game, but people go for the football game is big too
cosigns. FAMU/BCC and FSU/UF can be held on the same day. There will be more fights from the FAMU/BCC rivalry(although the best rivalry we have is FAMU/Southern). Whoever gets they **** beat will fight someone in town for the FSU/UF game over some stupid ish. Seriously I was raised embracing the rivalries of Texas/OU, Texas/Texas A&M, and any rivalry involving Grambling/PV/Southern/Texas Southern because the majority of them played in Dallas. Needless to say Texas/OU & Texas/Texas A&M is about the game and only the game even though they have events prior to the game. My high school rivalries were bigger than they were. Any rivalry involving Grambling/PV/Southern/Texas Southern always made the 10:00 news about someone fighting, firecrackers or gun fire?, etc. It really does depend on the rivalry.

that my friend is how people get fugged upp... it is not gone be one but probabally a mob of folks... ask what happend to some black dude at the 2002 jackson st. vs southern miss game... he got his arse beat by like 20 white dudes...rivalries don't play.. i wish a mutha... would wear a southern jersey around the jsu campus...

I'm not going to REALLY do that... WTF do I look like? That's like walking around w/ a OSU Jersey on the Unviersity of Michigan's Campus.. I've seen people get their ****cracked open for that... Contrary to popular belief the real reason is because the AD at the time Ken Riley didn't want to renew the contract for the game but he felt FAMU paid too much money out and didn't get enough in return.

I agree that was the only game I actually look forward to my freshman yr(2001) needless to say i was very disappointed that we didn't go to Baton Rouge the next year because i was already talkin noise to my cousin who was about to start at Southern the following year.
