I started thinking about this a minute ago...
I got **** whoopins when I was younger with a belt. I started to think about why. The obvious answer was because maybe my parents got their **** whooped too. So then I thought maybe if you take this back far enough you get to slavery days where this was used as a tool to keep one in line.
Is it possible that blacks use this form of discipline because it was seen as effective from slavery?

My Spanish teacher second semester was from Panama. And she was nervous about whippin her daughter in the states since she was new to the country or something like that. Anyway her daughter did something real bad and she promised her that when they went to visit Grandma's (in Panama) she was goin to get a whippin. She waited until their annual family trip to Panama and beat the hell out of her a soon as they touched ground. She said her daughter was trying to be nice to her the whole week before....guess she wasn't sweet enough.

That's almost on the level of kids who act up in school, and then their parents get called and the mom says, "Boy, you know what's going happen when I get home right?" So now, the kid is sitting through school the rest of the day, thinking about that beating they gonna get soon as moms steps through the door...I know those from experience....
But yea, no one will tell me about raising my kids. If I teach 'em right from wrong, and they choose to do wrong, then they choose to get the consequences that come with...airgo, some beatings. I just wish it was the 50s and 60s sometimes, where ANYBODY's parent could whoop an **** if a kid was getting out of line....Lord knows, about 75% of these kids need it...BAD.

That story funny as hell, but sheiiiit I have seen kids get whooped in school by their parents....
One situation was when I went to a strict Lutheran school, and I was in 3rd grade. This boy in my class was always real bad and disrespectful...so the principal called his mother in and asked if she ( the principal ) could spank him with a long wooden paddle in front of the class...His mother stood right there and let her do it. They actually made him bend over a chair and get spanked....He was boo hooin, but he was crying more out of embarrassment and pain cause u can tell she wasnt hittin him that hard.
The other situation was back in 9th grade in Spanish class...This boy was real bad too and stayed getting in trouble. So his mom popped up on him one day in the middle of class and knocked the s*t outta him in front of the teacher. She had rollers in hair and slippers to make it worse. Everybody in class was just looking like this the whole time....and she was just beaten on him. The teacher stood there shocked cause she aint know what the hell to do....

Have you guys ever gone somewhere and seen the child just outright disrepecting their parents. One day me and my freind was in wal mart and the lil girl was hittin her mom back and telling her no she wasn't gonna stop yelling just acting out in public when one of the managers asked the women to leave b/c this child was cussing and everything couldn't been no older than 6 or 7. This old black woman saw that and spoke to the mother, took the lil girl into the front bathroom and i swear she came out with a different child. the lil girl was all teary eyed and quiet. and the old woman just handed the mom a belt that was in a cart and said USE IT.
Me and my homegirl was laughing the whole way home. CuZ that's something my grandma would've done
the whole time....and she was just beaten on him. The teacher stood there shocked cause she aint know what the hell to do....
