This is good news. But I thought for sure he'd take the full ride to Morehouse...

ROME - Marcus Dixon enrolled at Hampton University on Friday and
attended his first football practice the same day.
Dixon, who spent 15 months in prison after being convicted of
aggravated child molestation and statutory **** before having his sentence
overturned by the Georgia Supreme Court, received a full athletic scholarship to
play football at the Virginia school.
"A lot of people down in the Atlanta area called me about him, said he
was a good kid," said Hampton head coach Joe Taylor. "Most people know we
have a lot of discipline up here."
Taylor, who's been coaching for more than 30 years, says everything
seems to be working out. "We feel comfortable," he said about the publicity
that's sure to follow Dixon. "We felt like he was a young man who
needed a second chance.
"This is a great school, we've got a Gospel choir, a Fellowship of
Christian Athletes chapter, we're all about discipline," he said.
Dixon had a full scholarship to Vanderbilt before his arrest and
subsequent conviction in February of 2003. Vanderbilt rescinded its offer due to
Dixon's legal problems.
Dixon's adoptive parents, Peri and Ken Jones, said the former Pepperell
student's decision to go to Hampton was a last-minute thing.
Peri Jones said she felt it was important for Marcus to get out of
Georgia and she's happy with his choice. "Georgia and Tennessee were the hot
spots, Tennessee because of Vanderbilt, and we knew that people can be cruel,"
she said. "I think Hampton is the right place. I had a good feeling about
his going there."
Dixon, who played linebacker, tight end and defensive end in high
school, is working out at defensive tackle, according to Taylor.
I could've sworn on Bet tonight they said that a lot of HBCU's were originally trying to recruit him but he turned them down because he allegedly said he didn't want to go to an HBCU, he wanted to go somewhere that was racially mixed. That's why I was surprised to hear he's going to Hampton.
Naw...she was just offered a track scholarship and an academic scholarship...never enrolled.
oh okay. Well this is off topic but does any Howard University students know Camille off of americas top model? and if so is she really that fine in person AND is she really a ****.
A while back someone on her from HU (Howard) said they knew her...but I don't think they post that much any more or that often...I wanna say that HU_Intellect said it..but I can't remember.
This is good news for Marcus...I saw him and his family when they were on Oprah talking about his situation. I always thought he was innocent. That white girl just looked like she was lying and there were eople around her telling her what to say. It was good to see Marcus released though. When he was on Oprah, I thought he was gonna either end up at Vanderbilt or Morehouse from the way he was talking....but he is ending up at an excellent HBCU, so its all good.
For those who do not know how he looks, here is his picture. This is an old article, when he was incarcerated, and his family were trying to prepare for his appeal with the Georgia Supreme Court.
i just thought about this...her and her racist **** daddy need they **** whooped...he lost 15 months of his life.
I know everything happens for a reason but geez.
