To hear it from a member: Yes, Alicia Keyes was initiated in AlphaKappaAlpha Sorority, Inc. No, she is not a student at Columbia, therefore she is not made. She is simply an honorary member selected on the premise of her humanitarian contributions to uplifting the youth in NY. She was so suppose to have been initiated at our Boule in July but paperwork and other things hindered that.
Do I think they made a good choice: she is a wonderful woman who does embody certain aspects of an Alpha Kappa Alpha woman but we'll see if she maintains the oath she took for the sorority....
