i figured we should post when we see any flyers or postings for interest meetings at our different schools. it could help prospects that may have just missed the flyers or just werent paying attention. this would probably work better in the seperate school forums but im new so i cant get in any. i think this is a good idea though.

I think that the flyer thing is funny because I have a friend who wants to be a part of this one organization who only puts up like 10 flyers around A&T and they put them in the oddest places, like in a stairwell nobody can walk down...then they keep them up for a day and then they tear them down. My friend actually stalked out places at night to see if they would go and post them in the early morning. It's funny, but sad.

I am in total agrrement with all that has been said. I will just Co-sign. Keep your eyes open! I mean, we had to do that same, nothing's handed to you. Don't expect anyone to TELL you when events are taking place. I believe all campuses have a FLYER BOARD, where many events are posted. Be on the look out! Blessings! Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. im gonna throw in my 2 cents on this 1... i personally believe that if u REALLY want to join an organization u should keep ur eyes open and pay attention to ALL the fliers around ur school at ALL times. I dont think that some 1 should have to bring it to ur attention or REMIND you. I think that if ur hungry and u really want something u search and hunt untill u get it. thats my 2 cents...if u disagree fine...thats my beliefs.
I completely agree with you. I am interested in a D9 sorority and I an always on the look out. I check the out dated web-site just in case it was up-dated, I even look for some of the ladies and try to make small talk to see if anything is coming up. If something happens I am going to know about it.

Here's my story for why I have to wait til next Fall. ( to an extent) I am interested in a certain sorority... In the Fall I was on my way to work out... I had on gym clothes, gym shoes, and a ponytail... I walked past this flier and it was the "INTEREST MEETING" for the sorority of which I have interest. However it was 5 minutes before it started. I was so ready to cry. However I ended up not going to the meeting because i know I would have been very late and that doesn't look good. I started trying to find out who all the ladies were on campus thatwere a part of that sorority... and I have met a few of them and expressed my interest to them in a discreet kind of way. I have also joined a few of their organizations such as Student ambassadors.... Just because you show up at an interest meeting does not mean they are going to pick you. You have to show them what you can do for your school and other people around you. And they are always watching you so you should be cautious of the things you do. Just use your common sense for real.

Although this is true, it is ALWAYS a very good idea to go to as MANY programs and intrest meetings as possible because the more we see your face the more intrested you are perceived.

To each their own...do what you feel is right. This makes me think back...about how I learned about our informational. My roomate and I(who I'm now proud to call my soror!) had helped at a cleanup that the men of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Innncorporated were conducting. You know....tryna to show up at a variety of events. Prior to this, we attended a Dialogue w/ the Doves and were getting excited about the possibility of "what could be." Anyways,RIGHT after the cleanup I went to the main spot on campus where everyone knows(or should know) that Greeks post info. And there it was:the flyer for the informational. Posted on a Saturday, no other flyers yet, and I had checked ALL week and nothing was posted. Interestingly enough, once other flyers went up it had a different time from the original. So our dedication was tested again! But we asked around and learned the deal. Point:If it's meant to be, and you REALLY care....you won't need anyone on this site to post ANYTHING for ya....you'll know firsthand. Be Blessed!!
